Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

OK, my chickens are squatting for me every time I am near them - but I got 0 eggs yesterday. The last couple of weeks it is has been 2 eggs or less per day when I check the nest box after work. Up until the freezing eggs, I was getting 5 or 6 from 7 hens.
Any ideas on what is up? They are refusing to go outside because of the snow, so they have been cooped up for the last 2 months - voluntarily!

Maybe the weather? I have no real idea, just a guess, lol. Mine will be 28 weeks on Monday and I haven't gotten a single egg from them yet.

Hard to say for sure wyo, but egg eaters is not out of the question. It has helped me in the past to put curtains to the entrance of the nest boxes...seems like the egg eaters can't eat eggs they can't see.....just a thought.
NMEN....I would think eggs should be showing up any day now...they could start laying any where in the coop till they get the hang of it....the first ones can surprise the pullets and simply drop them where it happens to be at the time.
Hoping things warm up soon...maybe later next week. Normal temps in the 30's will seem wonderful.
Enjoy FFF tonight....baked haddock and jumbo shrimp here with baked potatoes and ho-made slaw.

Nice sunny day today and the calm before the hopefully last brutal cold nights to follow the next couple days.
Cleared another 5 inches of snow today, and hope I get a break for awhile now.
Roosters are getting excited now when the Sun pops out...really red combs are showing their face....feel bad for the frostbite some have developed this Winter.

Ugh, seems my nights and days are reversed. Thank the 20 hours of craptastic Friday. Fridays are always suckful, but this Friday was just dumb. Back to bed, try to get back on a schedule. At least all the chicklings are all in fresh digs and the surrounding area in the basement vacuumed and put back to rights. LOL

The girls outside are starting to increase in egg production and my horse is shedding. They swear to me spring's a comin'.

Saw some Sandhills earlier this past week; the tide is definitely turning for the better.

My FFF..... :D yummy!

That's one thing I've never ate bl4. Do they taste like chicken?
Sure was happy to see the hen sitting on the nest with the eggs in it, when I did chores this morning. Nothing like some warm eggs in your pockets.
Keep the fire going..... bigz

Never had oysters at all? Not even oyster stew?

They taste like oysters, fresh, a little salty, the ocean water inside of them is delicious..... just add a few drops of lemon and down they go.

I have eaten oyster stew growing up, that my mom made from the canned oysters, but never fresh like you enjoy. Maybe someday...but not on the menu at the present time.
Wind sure has a bite on the face today.
