When is the corn roast?

On the subject of roosters, anybody need some nice breeder lines Roos? I have 5 total, and need so whittle down my numbers to two. 4 of the Roos are Marans, I think the other one is an Ameraucana but the comb is not a rose comb...... anyway if you are looking to make olive eggers you will need the Marans genes..... just let me know. They are quite handsome boys.

those grape vines sound spooky .. soon you will wake up in bed and the vines will have you tied down tight.. dew do do dooo
I will be getting at trimming all over as soon as my string trimmer gets here.. This would be a good "before" and "after" situation..

Corn Roast was last evening bl4...it was also a pock luck....a lot of food and corn gilled to perfection, some caramelized the way I prefer it and others just hot and done a little al dente so everyone was happy....good turnout and 10 doz corn was consumed.
Spent this week reducing my roo's here.....I went from 6 to one and giving the Lav orp roo a chance to fit in with the main coop.....they are really lay back roo's, so it might work out for him.....then I'll call him Lucky, if he remains Lucky!
Plenty of clean up left here today, but I'm taking the day off to relax...I love doing nothing.

I have 2 SLW hens I need to re-home they are 2 years old, I live in a burb that has no chicken ordinance and I have 6 hens and 3 Barred Rock pullets. The SLW lay well, they're not cuddly, but they're nice looking hens. I will bring them to you within 60 miles of Milwaukee. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks

jvls1942, Thanks, Looks like i'l be taking them to Escanaba, MI this weekend. My husband's uncle has a hobby farm up there with a few hens and a Turkey and he said he would gladly take them. I'm really liking my Barred Rock pullets, they're sweeties :))

Good to hear you found a good home for your hens twendt. Trying to give roosters away is a tough tough sell around here, and the freezer is where really nice birds end up. I have one to deal with yet to free up my second coop for the little ones.

Keep having fun...bigz
