Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good afternoon,
I just came in from playing with Ollie for two hours. Moved tons of snow away from the house and cleaned up the parking area real good. didn't do the long driveway, that can wait until tomorrow after it snows another 3 inches tonight.
last night for GS's birthday dinner we went to HuHot. expensive but we go there because that's where the birthday boy picked to go.

I just came back from the feed mill. I decided with the lousy cold and snow in the near future that it would be easier getting that chore done in not so bad outside weather. I should be good for almost a month now and next trip will be next month with hopefully decent Feb weather.
I have 5 or 6 deer that clean out my wild bird feeder every night....they are either lazy, smart, or hungry....maybe a little of both.

Had to go out to the farm this morning to wash another load of veal buckets. It was snowing quite a bit, we left and by the time we got back into town there was nothing. My daughter is in Janesville and said there was snow coming down about 8am. Just got home from work at Walmart, so drinking a cup of tea and then a few hours sleep before we go back out to the farm around 8am.

Sounds like you are busier than I would like to be. Just the chores in the 4 degree temps was enough for me. I forgot to check the temps in the coops when I was out there, but noticeably better than outside….. glad this weather isn't gonna hang around long. The sunshine is a blessing too!

Hi all, looks like winter is here for a few days, at least.
I have the kitchen all cleaned up. finished off the last drop of coffee in the pot. boiling a half dozen eggs for egg salad.
am not going outside for any reason except if an emergency arises.
down to about 2 slices of bread. and only about 4 cinnamon rolls left.
for my next batch of bread, I am going to make half the dough into one loaf of bread, and the other half of the dough into cinnamon rolls.. I'm thinking of making caramel cinnamon rolls this time..
If we get a late spring, I might have to leave the house through the french doors..

It was 6 degrees when I got off work a little after midnight. At least it wasn't too bad doing the last batch of veal buckets. I realized how cold it really was outside when I went to start the car before we headed home. Wearing a very wet sweatshirt and tennis shoes outside of the milk house was definitely not my idea of cozy and warm *LOL* It was about 17 degrees out at that time.

Me either...we had a white Christmas so that was enough for the whole Winter as far as I'm concerned. I didn't even open the pop holes today....seemed to take all day to warm up enough to bother opening them. The good thing is....Jan is half over!
