Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Holy Cow Windy here today. Sounds like after tomorrow the weather will be slowly improving. I'm babysitting a bunch of garden plants until things improve weather wise.....trouble is, if you don't go to the greenhouse when they open, then all the varieties you want will be sold out....we are thinking about going back to starting seeds in our small greenhouse and not dealing with the crowds, as well as planting everything that does well here.
Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

yep, windy here, too. I don't like wind.
I was going to take the electric motor off of the cement mixer, but 44F and wind ,, nah ..
have all 8 trusses assembled. . Thursday looks like a good day to put them in place.
there are 8 of them to put up.

the awning roof will span over both doors..

21 feet and it will stick out away from the wall just about 4 feet.

then when the snow falls off of the building roof, it will be deflected away from the doors ..

I am going along with my awning roof project pretty good.
the only thing holding me back were the strong winds and on and off rain.

I marked this truss with all of the lengths and angle cuts in case I ever have to duplicate this pattern again.

help , help ?? what's that ?
I got two of them in place, Just have to finalize the mounting with some 6'' pole barn screws.

My scaffold (tractor bucket) ran out of gas 7 feet from the building. waiting for delivery of gas now.
it's OK because I needed a break from the heat anyhow.
drinking lots of ice water, today..

My 5 baby chicks are feathering and were born on March 31st. I still have a heat lamp on them. Do you think I should keep it on because the weather has been chilly than usual. Do you think they should be fine outside in 2 months? My score wasn't enough to get a loan for the house and Landlord renigged on our agreement. Have to be out by may 31. I told him that if we move out, I will not buy the house and move back in. He kinda tried to change his tune but I am not about to play that game.

Jim, kids are taking advantage of the fact that Gov. Evers is not making school manditory for the rest of the year. There are many kids who don't have access to internet. So when the new school year starts there will be alot of them left behind. Sad to see some of my co=workers graduated this year from UW-Whitewater without a ceremony. Whitewater High School Graduates, have signs posted in their yards announcing they are now graduated

that is sad about the high schools not having graduation. mostly sad for the seniors not having the experience of winding up their last school year.
I wonder what their class reunions will be like ?
there are other houses. keep searching.

It is not that school is cancelled for the rest of the year, they still have to complete the work for the remainder of the school session but not in the building.

I know the schools have been dealing with the issue of some households not having internet. So have the internet providers, as they have been offering internet for free to homes with school aged children who require it. Schools have actually handled this quite well IMO. Yes there were some hiccups but overall it has gone well.

My youngest graduates this year, and is pretty blasé about the entire thing. Like most, he just wants his HS time to be over with so he can live his life. Since he has a GF, he was bummed about Prom getting cancelled, but otherwise he is coping very well. He has been social distancing from his friends for three years so this whole ordeal has not impacted him too much.

I am loving the impact for me! Working from home since March 13th! I am hoping once things return to normalcy, I can continue to work from home..... a lot less stress, no commute, and I get to see my critters and my family all day. 😊

And because of that: anyone know of a reputable Boxer breeder? Since I am home indefinitely, might as well get a puppy since I am home to train it. 😊
