It isn't all that unusual. If has been that long, it is best to push her off the nest at least once or twice a day. I did that with Mocha; she went straight to the dust bath, then ate, drank, pooped and went back to the nest.

By "push", I mean literally push or pick up and set down a foot or so off the nest or some such thing. Some hens might take direction without physically moving them; Mocha has been the only one I had who went broody so I don't know about that part.

The problem is, inactive ingredients in the formulation used as adjuvants aren't as carefully tested so I could see how they could cause problems. A herbicide adjuvant is a substance added to herbicide formulations or spray solutions to enhance their performance or modify their application characteristics.

After the ‘Rona debacle; I hold little to no faith in any report stating something is harmless, especially concerning a company known for creating agent orange and partnering with a company that worked on creating the chemical weapons of WWII. If it does not belong there in the natural state of the product, it should not be present.

Smoking a pack of cigarettes prolly not hurt a person much, smoking a pack a day for 30 years, different story.
What I wonder is spray (roundup ready) RR field corn or or RR sweet corn with glosphate and other chemicals, modes of action. The chemicals being systemic ( absorbs the chemicals) how many parts per million of the chemicals are in the plant.When the plant produces the ear is there any chemicals in the ear and if so how many parts per million? Or after awhile do the chemicals dissappear or become inert (inactive)I will probably never know the answer.

This is the reason I do not spray or use chemicals on my grass, weeds. The plants absorb and the chemicals just dont dissapear. The chickens eat the grass, weeds so how many parts per million are they eating if I spray?

Anyway many things, chemicals are safe if used correctly.

Unlikely to be human carcinogin. When I ask team member in store, Where is your motor oil? When they answer, " I think it is isle 15", tells me they dont know.

Unlikely tells me they dont know.

My father smoked 2 packs a day for probably 40 years....it did not end well at all. Would not advise.

That was my next question...spraying weeds in the landscaping rocks. I do not eat the eggs from the ducks or geese but don't want them to get sick either. I noticed yesterday the weeds/grass were growing nicely in the landscaping. I usually grab the weed killer and go to town but now after having the ducks/geese wander the yard I am thinking I may have to start pulling weeds instead. The HOA (my hubs) is nosing around fertilizer for the lawn (he loves his 3 acres of lawn to mow- I don't get it but it keeps him busy for 3-4 hours) I may have to put my foot down on that one-not sure how that would go either with the birds wandering the yard.

I give them to the neighbor. She sells or hatches or does whatever with them.
Kind of a trade for when we are out of town and she comes over and checks on them for me.

I had a thought to hatch some out but the timing just isn't there. Not sure I could give them up either. They are so darn cute.

I will bake with them but frying them are icky.

I don't have any interesting in running all over the country side to deliver eggs either. I work out of the house 7-5 and have another job at night a few nights a week too...not worth it to run around.

I do fall fertilzer on grass every couple years. Did last fall. Made sure rain was coming. Anyway noticed 3 years ago suppose to rain and didnt. The chickens going around looked like eating the fertilizer.The chickens are attracked to the little round balls fertlizer. I didnt let them out for couple days after make sure the fertilizer melted.

If you have a coop by , I have allied. Lawn fertilizer much cheaper.

We had a good storm around 9ish last night. Light show, wind and heavy rain. Nothing severe but was good to keep a close eye on it. Had everyone locked up by 7pm..they weren't happy at all but had to do it. Had to chase the geese around for awhile to get them to go in. They just can't ever cooperate with anything. They are lucky I love them so much.

I was thinking the same with the fertilizer...make sure it is done right before it rains. I am sure he will mention it soon enough.

We lucked out with the storms going just a little
NW of us. Two tornadoes touched down by Matoon
and Birnamwood and wiped out some farm buildings.
No human loss, but not sure about animals. The wind
sounded like jets for a couple hours.
I'm also a lawn hater. No way I'll promote the grass to
grow more than it does on its own.
