didn't cover the raised beds/ 35F this morning and everything looks fine out there/
Annie found another tub/ I am going to try carrots, I usually don't have much luck with carrots.

I have been flirting with the weather. so far I have been lucky. have not covered the raised beds and we have not got the freeze that was forecasted.
today it is 46F and windy/ rain forecast for this afternoon/ I might water a little just in case .
yesterday I filled the last tub with dirt mixed with rabbit manure. DD Barby is going to give me some everbearing strawberries.
then that's it. I am out of tubs. I have six of them set up. plus 5 pails of tomatoes. my original plans were to have just four tomatoes, and that was it. what the hell's the matter with me ?

It's better to be safe than sorry when growing maters.
You can always freeze or give away the extras.
It's finally happening! We are getting some much needed
rain. This really is a blessing seeing how dry the ground actually is.
63 in the house this morning, so I broke down and built a fire ... sure feels good too!

Stay Safe ... bigz

the peas are growing despite the cold,
I am not covering the peppers and squash, I put the tomatoes into the garage one night. as long as it stays above the mid 3o's they will be ok,.
the peas are growing despite the cold.
i hope the beans don't rot,. not worried about the beets,.
I found a bit of ambition and took Ollie and carried the 3pt drag up to the garage. now I have to collect the tines from behind the garage. have to drop the back blade off and mount the drag.
i bought 16 strawberry roots,. they will go into the last raised bed. I paid 1.25/root.

Our peas are growing in spite or the cold. too. The corn needs more sun though. It grew but it stagnated over the past few days. Needs more sunlight. Corn needs higher temperatures to grow.
The strawberries are flowering.

Wow, I really like that! Did you design this yourself, or use a plan?

We have the five chicks Lorelei hatched, plus 4 new girls coming in two weeks. Then a few Chocolate/Lavender Orf chicks in mid-July. I’ve been wondering where to keep them all before integrating them with the flock.
