Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

farming is still deadly. my tractor fix it guy's dad rolled his tractor over and was killed a few years ago. and i had an aquaintance seasoned farmer did the old, poke your hand into the corn picker and was pulled in and killed.
i can't believe August is almost over.
seems like I haven't done anything constructive.
didn't spend even one day in the wood shop. all winter i had so many plans. the plans are still there

For all of you that we're gonna buy meat chickens this spring. How many did you get? And how did it go?
I think I might try it next spring

we don't buy meat chickens any more.
when we did, we ordered 200 for a family of 5. would give my brother many for helping butcher.
when it dwindled down to just the 2 of us we ordered 50.
i am thinking of selling the chicken plucker. haven't used it for a few years.

Hope everyone can get out and enjoy the coming weekend. It sounds like perfect outside weather is on the way!
We bought 5 doz corn from the neighbor @ $4 per doz. We froze 28 bags and enjoyed some on the weber grill.
The deer ate most of the garden here. I still have potatoes and some green peppers that were caged, as well as my cabbage.
Won't be long now until deer season is starting.

too bad the deer already ate all the bait. you could have sat on the back porch with a cup of coffee and hunted.
i dragged the box blade on the driveway yesterday. did a fair job, but can still slightly detect the big pot holes. will go at it again and concentrate on those.
lettuce still has not bolted. i am impressed.
the tomatoes are about done. still plenty of green ones.
the woodchuck is getting tamer. actually is tamer than our cat. he let Annie walk almost close enough to touch him.

Good to hear you have the driveway fixed up Jim.
Do you get to keep the box blade until the owner needs to use it?
First day of bear season for the dog hunters. They have a cool weather start for the first week.
Dug most of the potatoes yesterday. I have 3 bushels so far and prolly a bushel in the ground yet.
Better harvest than last year with more rain this year.

Stay Safe ... bigz

No , I don't get to keep the box blade that long,
she is not in a big hurry to get it back, but I want to get it back asap so I can borrow it again if I need it.
we had a good rain last night. so I went out and found a couple of small puddles. I filled them in,.
Annie said that the wet granite looked like cow manure. lol
it rained on me the whole time I was messing around on the driveway. the sun is shining ,,,,now!!!
