Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I have some yeast stuff left over from when they were ducklings/goslings. Do you mean for the niacin? Their food has it in. Can they get too much if I sprinkle some on and will it be ok for the geese? They all eat from the same food bowls.
Yes, for the Niacin.

Our chickens eat it too. It works in poultry like Vitamin C in humans: we can't overdose on it as our bodies use what they need and excrete the excess.

Nope, my chickens were born in the spring of twenty four and this fall. They quit laying a couple months ago.I get one or two eggs a day now.The other day I got three, so maybe things are changing.
I have been threatening them to replace them with new chickens😁

The molt and winter. Some stop laying for winter some breeds actually will lay in winter.

Last winter most my birds quit laying. There was 2 or 3 came back to laying after the molt. Also the new birds which was not many started to lay.
Anyway I havent had a egg since late last summer with all the raccoon problems.
The one chicken staying outside came back week ago and I have 1 other survivor.
Spring Ill finish enclosing small area in barn get some new chickens 3 to 5.
No more 12 to 20 chickens. just enough eggs for us.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We stayed home- did some work outside and made our own TG dinner.

Was totally defeated this week. I THOUGHT I was ready for the first snow fall. Had the huts all clean with fresh straw, ready for the winds and cold. Ducks/Geese stay outside during the day and I shut the doors of the huts. I opened the hut door Wednesday night to get them in and both huts had a good 3" of snow in it. I was mad to say the least. :he The venting I have on top of the huts are the perfect snow catcher with straight west winds. So now my weekend will be filled with closing off the north and west side of the hut. East and south end will be open at the top. I will be cleaning the huts AGAIN and hopefully they will have DRY, snow free huts to snuggle up in. Ya know you try to make sure everyone is safe, dry and out of the wind and when you fail it sucks. :barnie

Morning. How is everyone handling the snow?
I gave up on the snow in the duck/goose huts. I am just going to have to deal with it and fix the issue on a warmer day or be ready next winter. I opened the duck hut this morning after I spent 2 hours clearing the driveway and paths to the huts and saw snow again. I give up.

We are also looking for a garden tractor with a snow blower on it if anyone knows of one.

Ducks and geese are healthy. They probably aren't as worried about the snow as I am. They just waddle though it all and use the heated bowls like hot tubs.

It is going to be a LONG winter!
