Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Everyone is bracing for the storm I presume. I went out already, and it's slickery. We're in the middle of where the worst of it is coming (Shawano County), but oh well, farmers will love it!

We have the salt/sand by the door off the back deck, so I don't take a dinger trying to get out to the chickens tonight. ☺️

That last one a few days ago, I did! I was out by one of the pens yelling for hubby as I knew I'd never make it back to the house. He came out and he went down too. We're too old to be doing this stuff lol. We were both okay though. Lesson learned!

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone had a good Holiday.

Woke up this morning to the huts being drifted in- waist high drifts. I really need to use a snow fence next year. Took me well over an hour to shovel them out and I used the snowblower over the grass for a path. I shoveled last night about 5-glad I did but didn't do much when the winds picked up. Ducks and Geese were not impressed when they came out this morning. They don't really like change-their landscape changed a lot since yesterday. I even let them out of the fence the past few days to wander the lawn. They LOVED it. They were so happy to pick in the little bit of grass that was exposed.

Going to be a LONG winter. :(

we got 5 inches of wet snow.
at 11am the neighbor has us plowed out.
we don't get much drifting. we have a good wind break on the west side of the property.
i can take the snow over the sub zero temps.
the roads are still slippery. no matter, we aren't going anywhere.

11F / I am just about fed up with winter already
we were invited out for new years eve. didn't go. too cold.
besides, i don't like driving after dark. too many deer. about two weeks ago we saw about 50 of them in a field just a half mile from home.the highlight of my news is dr appts. just annual check ups so the dr can buy new cars.
