Happy New Year!

Tonight, tomorrow, we'll get some rain, ice, and snow. I bet you farmers are happy!

We're not going anywhere! They've got a Hazardous Weather Warning out for here (Shawano), yet, we've got some balmy temps coming! 40°F on Wednesday, woo hoo! 😎

We plan to stay home tonight too. When I get home from work I will be putting the birds to bed and shutting the hut doors. The geese have been bedding with the ducks for some reason. Everyone seems ok with it. :idunno

I have a wild rabbit hanging around the birds now. I shall call it Mr Bun Bun. I have no idea if it is male or female but I bought rabbit food for it and I put it out at night when the birds go in. LOL!

Super excited for the warmer weather! ...I hope it stays around for awhile. Agreed!

Annie went to town . I stayed home. the roads are bad and the city streets are worse. she said they are playing bumper cars on every intersection.
people are blaming the slippery streets. the problem is they don't slow down.
had freezing rain this morning. GS made it home from work OK.
made chili yesterday. perfect food for this kind of weather.

Hello All! Pretty sick of winter at this point. Dislike how my birds go into fear mode with me now that I don't spend a lot of time outside with them. I am just waiting for my gander to raise h#ll again with spring SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWLY creeping up. So far everyone is healthy with the temps shifting 20-40 degrees per day. No eggs from anyone since about November. I am on the fence about hatching some ducks or geese out this spring. My biggest fear is not being able to sell them. LOL! And the hubs will have a fit if I expand my flock.

How is everyone doing and your flock?

Renee

The flock is doing great and laying really well so far.
The old hens took forever to get over the molt. it's nice to not see any feathers being lost finally.
Jan is almost half over and longer days are not far off now.

Stay safe ... bigz
