Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oh good! This is really heating up! I like the idea of having someone to collect the $$. Probably some one close would be best. If you dont want to post your address; I could provide you with the names and then you could send your address to them via PM. I think that would work. Another alternative would be if a few people had EZ ups we could bring them in case of rain and for shade. THen we wouldnt have to rent a shelter at all. (It would be nice to have the shelter though for plug ins for crock pots etc.) OK--I am starting my list tonight!

TerriO; See I knew I'd forget someone's. Like I said I'd be willing to do it and maybe the PM's would work. I'll have think about it. But an idea just came to me. In honnor and rememberance of the founding roo for this thread we call this "The First Annual Bigzio Bash". Whatcha think? That's upon the approval of Bigz. of course. I'd be willing to post my address but am afraid of recieveing too much junk. Have enough of that. But like I said I'll have to think about it. Trying to make my life simpler not more complicated.

I hear ya on the simpler style Dr HaHa! On another board that I frequent if anyone sends junk they are ejected from the group. That goes for email and snail mail! I have been reading in the "chickenstock area" of BYC and there is a mess of info to plan these gatherings. I believe that I will write something up and post there too, just in case someone in WI doesnt know about this cheesehead board. I was just on the chat with a few folks that are from WI and they knew nothing about it! THere is also a banner that you can borrow...unfortunately it is already taken for that weekend! We will have to come up with some kind of signage.
OK--I need to go to bed...I am chilled to the bone from chores. My insulated bibs are at the Zipper lady's getting a new zipper put in the leg and my all in ones ust dont do the job! Good night! Terri O near Madison

thanx, fordmommy for the heads-up on the get together in June. we used to tent camp there in the 'old days' (when the kids were young)...why, I even remember getting yelled at by the Ranger for trenching around our tent in a down pour one weekend. unfortunately we spent much time at the local laundry mat drying everything we had along... Here's hoping this planned event goes MUCH better!
It will be fun to meet everyone who can come... are we using name tags? lol ...'chicksalot' for me & 'married to chicksalot' for my husband!!!???hahahahahahaha

I thought name tags would be a good idea. I could make some up with everyones' user names and when you get there, we would write under that the real names.

I was also thinking I would just go down to Hartman Creek State Park next week and reserve the shelter myself. Then it's done. Then on that day as people arrive, and sign in, or whatever, we could just collect the money. It would save A LOT of headaches.

I like that name Dr Ha Ha. I hope Bigzio says yes. He hasn't been on in a few days. Must be fishing.

Tyler, you should get fordmommy's place, you can have chickens in Waupaca......

I need to get at least 100k for my place so I have a downpayment on a place with acreage. Plus we have not finished all of the renovations (I don't think you want to buy a place unfinished). DEFINITELY look at forclosures; there are a lot in the area. It is taking a gamble but it can pay off too.

As far as the get-together.... I think I'll check out a few places that make vinyl signs..........

An idea, we could do a White Elephant gift exchange. The one where you bring goofy gifts, draw numbers and then pick out a gift or take somebody else's gift and have them choose again...... I think that is how it works.

We need greeters, sign-in sheets, ideas for kids games, contests......

I think I might have to take the day off from work for this!

The point with a white elephant gift exchanges that I have done is ya don't have to buy anything. It is all stuff ya find around your house that someone else wants way more than you do. We did one here at our campus ministry house this christmas and I gave away a binder of baseball cards the last renter of our apartment left. It was free to me and the person who got it collects cards so it worked out well.
