I see lionhead bunnies on craigslist all the time.....

I hate colds, they drag me down so much and interfere with all my plans!!!! I was feeling better today so I finally got busy making the blood-orange marmalade I have been planning on making for the past few weeks! I LOVE the color it makes, sort of a peachy-pink with ruby flecks..... next I want to try and make a lemon/lime marmalade and some preserved orange slices (I picked up some of those 'cuties' clementines for this purpose). I think if I slice them really thin they should not be bitter.

Can't wait until tomorrow! Egg candling day and quail egg adding day!

I know they are not my chickerns but it is so exciting! The kids just love the hatching process..... it is like Christmas!

Off to work at the Cheese factory again today. I found out that we process appx. 2.6 million lbs of milk per DAY! Unbelieveable!

Afternoon everyone! Welcome GG!!!!!! What a nice sunny day! Could have been warmer, that's comin. I beeped and waved while goin thru Paca and Wega today on my way to Appleton. Glad you feeling better bl4. So many posts can't keep up. Yes terriO I've been bustin my knuckles since I could hold a wrench. It's slowed down quite a bit with the newer vehicles. Can't do much other than put air in tires anymore. But my job includes a lot of rebuilding of paper mill machinery so there's always skin missing somewhere. If you were closer I would come over to lend a hand I have a working knowledge of hydraulics and anything mechanical. I always feel bad when I go to dads and see his tools. He turned me loose as a kid and a lot of his tools grew legs. Sometimes he'd find them with the lawn mower. Used to take stuff apart as a kid to see how it worked they didn't always go back together but I've grown out of that. Been getting 8/9 eggs for quite awhile now. Don't know if there's a hold out or if there's a couple that aren't laying eveyday. Doesn't matter their purty! I took some pics of Peaches for fordmommy's youngest but I seem to have lost my touch with the camera. I've rethought it and think I'm ready to give it another shot

If we have any chance at all of getting this bill to pass, we must convince these two committees that YOU want it. Numbers speak! We are asking everyone to gather friends, family, neighbors, etc., to attend these hearings.

ONE DAY! OVER NIGHT SHIPPING? From VA no less. I don't believe it. I have a feeling that they were broken when packaged and knew that I would ask for more and shipped them the day after the first package. What do you guys think?

Well- I was wrong. Not the eggs I thought they were. They are the bobwhite quail eggs that came with my bator. They were to come at a later time. I was thinking like in a month. So-I'll be getting a package tomorrow too probably.

Well yesterday my 7 year old stayed home from school with some kind of rash? No clue what it was, but anyway she went down to the coop to collect eggs (I was at work) and Louie flew at her again. In her words "Mom I kicked his butt!" thats what she said when I asked her what she did. "I did what you showed me then I carried him around with me all over the yard as I played." My DH said she carried that roo around for 20mins. She was so proud of herself. When I went down there after I got home Louie was hiding in the coop and when I stepped in he ran away from me. Guess she taught him a lesson.

Hopefully he will get the hint otherwise I'm going to put him in solitary confinment for awhile.

And good luck BL4 with the bill. A guy at work has a bater and said I can borrow it anytime. I asked, he won't sell it. I'll wait and see but don't know if these sex links will go broody. I'm thinking chicks around the first week of May. I wonder if a hen would adopt them if bator hatched? I'll have to do some reading and learning I guess. Plus R and D. Got 9 eggs today! That's the first time since the 7th of the month. Days are getting longer and a little warmer. I need a nap very stressful day at work. We have 3 people affected by the moon phases. I didn't think much of it till I started to notice that one of them goes off 5 days before till 5 days after a new or full moon. And I mean OFF! Then we found that 2 others were affected. One is my supervisor plus he has A.D.D. People laugh when I tell them, it's not funny. You should have to work with him. I left earlier than I needed to, to go to the dentist just to keep from shoving his nose caratlage into his cranium. If you've seen that advertisement for that kids movie with the dog that has a machine that allows him to talk to humans and is talking and all of a sudden he says SQUIRRIL that's my boss. To a T. Plus all ego, no talent just ego. Sorry I wasn't going to talk work on here. That's one of the many reasons I'm leaving early. I have a hard time saying retiring. Retiring retiring retiring OK I guess I lied. Think I'll try candling to see if I can see.
