Does any one know who might sell bantam Ameracuana chicks?

And does anyone who might be selling any of the Bantam Cochins on my wishlist (down in my signature - Columbians, Buff Columbians, Whites, and Lavenders)? I just can't wait for mine to hatch - I'm too impatient, and I'm having a terrible time finding breeders in the area.

Hi everyone! Mr Red looks a little better after his powdering this morning. Here is a pic of him right after his bath:

I have to grease him up with vaseline too...looks like he has legmites along with his lice! I guess I am just going to have to break down and get some of that Ivomec stuff and treat them all. A good cleaning in the coop would probably do wonders too! THis is the bird that I want to be his wife this year:

I have 3 like her. One other is reddish and the other one is blackish. I am hoping to get some good egg colors out of the babies.

Well, the sheriff was here today and left me a note that my sheep were out (again) and where they are getting out. He walked up to them and they took off and went back where they are supposed to be. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence I guess. Man, if it's not the sheep it's the dogs and if it's not them then it's the geese...ready to dump the whole lot let me tell ya!

I am planning on the Beaver Dam swap...I think I will get some more geese!

I think the fairgrounds (that's where it is right?) is about a half hour from me. Nothing that I exactly want to buy [except FENCING!] but it is always fun to look at stuff. After the let down that was Jefferson I would like to at least SEE some decent birds. One thing I would like to get is a female Pekin duck. Maybe I will see some of you there. I am planning on wearing my burgundy BYC sweatshirt and Tee shirt so you guys say hi is you see me!

I wanted to say that the butterfly you saw in the woods the other day was a Morning Cloak butterfly and the reason that you saw it this early is because they are one of the few that hibernate here in the winter! I guess they figured that it was warm enough to come out of hiding. THere is your Entomology lesson for today!

Thanks for the compliments on the flock. I have roos that are RIR, black australorpe, the EE above, Splash wyandotte, Black Ameracauna and a little wild silkie/? cross. The hens are the same with the addition of production reds. I think I got them all...

H&R--now that I have a working phone I have your number and I will call you about pick-up of the chicks. We have an FFA banquet tonight so I cant do it tonight. Talk soon! Terri O

Good Evening Everyone..... Thanks for all the pics of the birds and the peeps.

Happy Anniversary babylady4...hope you have many many more years of wedded bliss!

Terri O I hope your roo heals up real fast for you. Special high 5 for helping out the biker in a tough situation...not everyone would of done the same.

Busy day here on the hill....finished with pruning apple trees. Now I need to clean the mess up.

Spring must be here, one of my 5 year old hens layed a egg today. She let the world know about it too! The combs and waddles are starting to return to good color, so I think the rest of the girls will join in laying soon.

Thanks FM for clearing up any confusion about religion being a issue at christus camp...I assure everyone it's a non-issue. The Boy Scouts can't own property. We have one group ( extreme outdoors) that stay a couple times every year. They are handicap hunters who turkey hunt and deer hunt from wheel chairs.... and they do have great success. Stories for a lifetime...priceless!

I volunteer to mentor the young men and women that have work days from homme home. It's their last chance at life without having to go to jail. When some of them from the inner cities experience gravel roads, and a wooded atmosphere, they are totally in a new environment. I Know the inner city scares me to death. I don't know what my point is here? Just a ramble.

I'm looking forward to our first event at Hartman State Park. I'm hoping we have a great turn out with nothing but fun being had by all. That's the focus now....let's make it worth doing again, eh!
I'm with what everyone else wants to do. I don't want a single person left out. I'm with you!

Have Fun! ~ bigzio
