Well- I got babies!

I woke up this morning to send my oldest off to school and 1 baby serama was out and one pip on a RIR. Then I went back to bed for a little while (not wanting to watch bator TV) and I got up and there was another serama baby. And like 5 other pips. Then I when out to feed and chickens and another serama was out. And then I took a shower and a barred silkie came out. It's been nuts! I have like 10 pips too!

Then I had to run my preschooler to school and had to go to Napa to pick up a part for my dad and deliver it to him and then off to Buck Creek Chicken's! Then back to pick up the kids, stop at the grocery store and FINALLY home again.

I'll keep you all posted about the babies and I'll get pics too!

P.s. I'm still dancing. And I'm stepping it up a little for this weekend. Trying to get better weather.

I agree the chip chicks are more than cute! Had my first tick today, deer tick buried of course. Will keep an eye on it. Got more good news yesterday. A guy who retired last spring came into the shop and I had questions for him and I loved the answers. My last day of being employed will be June 30th. That took 2 days off my sentence then there's Memorial Day, that's minus one more plus I get a floating holiday. That leaves a lonely Monday to work that week. Ain't happenin! I'll take a zero and retire on Friday the 16th of April. 28 and a wake up. I'm SHORT!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!!

Dr H you sound plenty excited to b retiring! I am sure you have projects lined up! I picked up my chicks from H&R today and they all look fantastic! I have put them in our basement bathroom that we dont use (I wont even tell you THAT story!) and they seem happy enough to be here. I also picked up my new pigeon and a rooster from a shelter in IL. They are settled too. Mr Red is hoping to go back outside but I think I will wait until Monday...no more dancing Fordmomy because I know that you do the snow dance!!! I want spring--so do my critters.
Tomorrow is horse manicure day--I am glad that my daughter will be home so she can hold hers. Bad enough that it drains my checkbook! I am looking forward to Sunday and the swap. Several things I have decided I need...we will see if I can find them!
Oh joy! My son just got back from college for the weekend! Now the grocery bill goes up too! Ha Ha--I am glad to see him! Later--Terri O

INTRODUCING: Tiny Tim!

This is the little guy I picked up today...he just had his bath and is reclining in his new digs. He was hatched in a classroom in Chicago with one leg straight out and one curled under. Someone took pity on him and had his leg amputated. He resided in a shelter in IL until he started to crow and the neighbors were not happy. Now he will live out his life here with me on my farm that seems to be catering to "Special Needs" critters! Terri O

Dr Ha Ha, I had a deer tick last year imbedded. The Dr office told me to put triple antibiotic on it and a band aid for at least 24 hours. Watch for the bull eye after that for 2 weeks. After that it should be fine.

Terri O, This dance is "The Dance of Spring". I have been doing this one for a while now. It's a little different. 2 steps to left and 1 to the right.

TO You have no idea! I have more than enough projects to last my lifetime and 4 of Bigzio's. I've made plenty of mistakes in my life and this might be another but I'm going for it. I have enough woods and street smarts to survive. I just want to catch up on all the important things in life that have been on the to do list for way too long before I'm unable to do them and that list is long so I need time. That list is much longer and much more important than keeping up with the Jones. For instance trout fishing, I haven't done that in so many years and I just love it. When I renew our fishing licenses I'm getting an inland trout stamp. I like to fish small streams and come to think of it it's a lot like turkey hunting. Stealth and being one with your surroundings. Match the hatch! I want to once again appreciate what has been put there just for my eyes to see. I want to make dirt angels, exactly like snow angles except darker, I want to laugh and giggle MORE! There's something about that, that makes me a happy boy.

Well Dr H I cannot wait to meet you in person! You sound like my kind of guy. I LOVE trout fishing. When I was about 11 I started going along with my Dad. We were just talking about that the other day when it was opening weekend and there was about 6" of snow! I believe that I stayed in my PJs with my clothes over the top for the whole weekend. I did catch the biggest trout though! We went to some little place near Argon, WI where my Dad grew up. We walked out to the stream in the dark and the geese sounded like they were right overhead as they honked over us. We had to walk on all these hillocks and I kept stumbling and thought I was going to go head first into the water. I remember that at first light my Dad said GO! and we did the first cast. Such memories!!! I never really understood having to be there at first light...it wasnt like there was anyone else there vying for out position!
I think I have to find something to eat...scrambled eggs anyone? Terri O
