Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Bl4 I know of which you speak. I call this place the Why house and the rest is Snowball acres. The house has been an endless source of Why did he do it that way? I'm not much of a carpenter but MAN! And everything I touch snowballs into a much bigger job. I could go on for hours. Turns out the guy that told me about the feed was mistaken. It's $9.50 for 50 lbs. Still cheaper than TSC and will replentish supplies on our way home from up north when needed. Stopped at a place with eggs for sale S of Junction to look for SLW's. None there, but had a very nice convo with the gal there. Was that you CN5? Also stopped at Urbans green house. I've known them for around 35 years. Good people! Got some onion sets. Nice to able to have the time to visit. And loved the smell at the feed mill:love That took me back a few years. Gotta go clean out the coop and let it air. Think the soil will be too wet for planting today.

that crazy turkey hen is hatching her eggs today, i saw one head all ready, so will see, there where 19 eggs under her, and she was sitting when we had that snow storm on the 8th, it will be interesting to see how many see hatches out

WOW it's nice outside! Got the coop cleaned out. Looking at it to figure out some added ventilation. Had to run a box fan in there last summer no air from the north or west. Thinking some old windows with wire mesh. Hinged the south side windows that open into the run when I built it. Must of had my thinking cap on. Puttin on shorts and a cut off T. Burn baby burn. No disco inferno. BCC bet that was a cute sight. Lil ugly baby peekin out from under an ugly momma!

DrH, for cheapie windows go to ReStore (one in Appleton, one in GB). DH was picking up insulation for my coop the other day ($1-2/sheet) and he found me a single pane window for $1!!! Just have to build a 2x4 frame and get some hinges, voila custom coop window. Can't go wrong with that price. Also a great place to pick up bulk nails.

Beautiful day out there! Been chipping away at the coop; just need some more pallets to finish the siding, install that window, and paint. Oh, and find some wire to build a run. I've got 3 weeks, think I can do it?

Sure was nice out today, got the grass all cut up again-boy it sure was long-had to go a bit slower than normal so I didn't plug the deck. Had planned to go into town and work on the unit we have left to get cleaned by Friday but our DS(8) got sick last night and ended up throwing up several times throughout the night and stayed home today from school, he also felt dizzy so I decided not to take him to work. Hopefully tomorrow will work.

Had to move the turkeys into a bigger area they now have a 6' x 12' pen and they make use of it all-they are so funny to watch

our friend will probably come a watch since she enjoyed it so much the first hatch she watched!

Ordered the Andalusian eggs so they should get here either Friday or Sat. and will go into the incubator once the other hatch is done. Hopefully that will work out since our DD(10) is excited to get them.

Amy thanks for info but I just happen to have in my collection of "good stuff" some of the old windows that came out of the house when I had them replaced. Surprise! Now just to cut holes, hinge, screen, and it's a done deal. Oh ya and reglaze and paint. Oh ya and trim out the openings to match and and and. I'll get to it. OMG are those wading shoes the cats patuty. They weigh less than a chicken fart and man do they breath. It's like walking on a cloud. Got the addition to the garden tilled. After making the proper adjustments it still was rough going. Bustin sod is not fun. Then sent the mongolians in to clean out the sod but all they did was eat my precious worms. What a beautiful day! Had an itch on the inside of my arm., another deer tick. Third one so far. This one was really really tiny. I looked at it and looked at it. Couldn't believe it was a tick. Not even the size of a pin head. Knew with the rain there'd be a hatch. Had a great day today played with the kids. I was just out running with them and L was on puter and I could hear her laughing at me. It was fun! The kids like their new feed. I like the looks of it, no crumbles, pellets. All ground natural looking. 16% or more protein plus a long list of nutrients and vitamins. I'm sold. They were raised on Dumore put think this will be better for them. Have to bring in a little wood and finish the coop. Enjoy your evening!

Good evening! We just got done with dinner...beef stir fry with pea pods and bean sprouts. It was pretty good but dd24 didnt put enough water in with the rice so it was a bit had and starchy! Oh well! Good just the same. Put those little chickies back out with their mama after work today...she remembered them! I thought for sure she wouldnt...the chicks didnt seem to care.
Just got a load of hay...I need to get the trailer out of the barn so we can get it inside...glad it is not going to rain tonight and I can do it tomorrow! I dislike Mondays...I seem to get so tired--probably need more sleep on the weekend! Planning on an early one tonight though...
Did I tell you I got my new tortoise? He is cool--a bit bigger than my other one; who, unfortunately seems to be lost at the moment! I have been searching all afternoon...I just hope nothing got him and he is dug in deep because of the cold during the night!
