Good Evening to All.... BCC you and your mom on in my prayers and best wishes. Hope everything turns out ok for you and your famiily.

Yep it's been payback for a nice april, eh!

made it over to Dave's and picked up the buckeyes...I'll post pics once they get use to the new home. I was glad you were able to provide me with some hatching eggs for my broody mom. She ruffled, and settled in for the long haul I hope....

Suzie caught a pic of one of the java peeps on the waterer today....

They are doing great, and I'm really happy with them.

Ok, I broke down and bought some call duck babies........ they should arrive about the same time as my hatch data and they should be 1-2 days old at that time. I hope they will be ok and that we have nice warmer weather while they are shipping so they all make it!

Interview was good, the job is between me and one other person. I am not sure if that is good or bad........ I just hope I am their choice! The pay is outstanding and the position is perfect for me.......

I should know by tomorrow what they decided.

If I get this one we could move out of town and I could FINALLY get my chickens!

But of course I am jumping the gun......

Good chilly morning again!

BCC- our thoughts and prayers for your mom and family hopefully all goes well.

Bigzio-cute picture of the chick, ours did that until they got to big and kept knocking the waterer over!

Well today is paperwork day and start cleaning our house-our DS(8) is making his 1st communion on Sunday and we'll be having 25 or so family and friends at the house afterward.

Finally had time to candle the Andalusian eggs in the incubator last night-out of 18 eggs, 16 are developing nicely and only 2 were not- hopfully our DD will get a nice selection of chicks. White eggs are so much easier to see what is happening inside

Our 4 chicks that are now 2 weeks old get to go to school tomorrow and be shown off in all 3 class rooms-our youngest DS(5) is star of the week and so he wanted to share the chicks. Of course the other 2 asked their teachers as well!

Have a good day and would someone do a sunshine dance!

BCC I hope all goes well for your mom! I know it can be very stressful for all concerned. We're here. suzyq you are a sick individual, we should know. Bigz I remember the first time I saw one my girls do that it blew me away! Made L come out and see. Tried to make a little roost for them that didn't work so well. The new babies will be taught to roost if it kills me. Once they are introduced to the others they'll have to use the roost. No room on top of the nest boxes. Good luck with your broody! BBCB that's why I got them fell in love with them at the fair. Have read where their vents can become plugged because of their fluffy butts might want to keep an eye on that. Glad I put the heat bulb in too. Some are already starting to bond I put my hand in the brooder and some come right to it others are scared so I pick them up and talk to them seems to be working. Of course I'm talking to them all the time anyway. Now I want to share some advice with you all. My rant about about the SIL nearly cost me my relationship with my DD. I jumped to conclusions without knowing all the facts. That was very stupid on my part. I should have known better and trusted them. After receiving all the info I felt terrible at what I had done. I can only hope that my indiscretion can be forgiven. My paternal instinct got the better of me. I have to be more wise. Hope that I can learn to stop and think about things before opening my big stupid mouth. It won't be easy after doing so for so many years. Wish me luck I'll need it. Have to go make the noodles.

Hello everyone. I know I have been MIA. Been so busy lately. I took my kids to the circus in town here Tuesday night. My youngest just loved it. His eyes were asa big as saucers!!!!

to all the newbies. I'll get you all a personal invite to the June 12th party soon.

Speaking of that. Is everyone getting excited? I plan on getting the name tags started this weekend. Hopefully all goes well there. Anyone sign up to arrange the games for kids???? We could use some volunteers. Can't wait to meet you all.

I went to put my duck eggs that I got from BCC in "lock down" this morning.....and one is pipped!!!

So I finished taking them out of the turner and put them in their carton for hatching. I have 8 eggs out of 13. Very good I think. I pulled out 3 on day 10. (Not developing) and the other 2 started a little and then quit. So thanks BCC!

with your mom. I know things are tough for you right now. You know I'm just a phone call away if you need to vent. Never judging. Or you know where I live if you ever need to escape.

Cedar Post, I was thinking that maybe this Sunday we could stop by on our way back from Green Bay to see "larry the Cable Guy". Would that work for you? PM me.

BCC Prayers and Thoughts go out to you and your mom, both of you be well.

Dr H I don't remember qny of my SLW having any problems initially, except for possible bumblefoot, I got them from a guy who had very unclean, cramped conditions. All are doing very well now, but they sure do stick together, you can always find them within wings reach of each other, it seems. I don't know if it's me or the birds, but I'm thinking that getting them outside as soon as the weather clears is going to make for some happier chickens.

I can't reintroduce the roos to the group, I tried it this morning and right away there was some big fighting going on. Both are going to have to go, I'm afraid, so if I can't get anyone to take my roos for free, then I have to cull. The whole goal here is lots of eggs, and there is no harmony with the boys running around making everyone nervous. If I need a rooster I know where to get some beautiful ameraucaunas, so this is not a problem. I just hate culling otherwise healthy birds.

H & R I'm in the middle of the interview process right now myself, so I know where you're coming from. I'm waiting on pins and needles and hopefully will hear something, one way or the other, in the next couple of days.

C'mon Warmth and Sunshine!!!!!
