Taking the day off!

And Raiquee don't worry it gets better!

About a quarter of the way through my todays dishes, taking a sit down break. Other than snapping beans. 4 qts of dilly beans and 4 qts of dill pickles cooling off and all are sealed. Unless I put up some more pickled peppers I'm done canning for the season all the rest will go to good people. I do need to freeze some more cilantro and then the carrots. But other than that I'm DONE!

BFF wants to go musky fishing I said lets GO! Too much other stuff done to tell. I'm talking to my eggs as usual, made L come watch, it was cool! Come out come out where ever you are, then they move.

So, I didn't even really clean! *throws arms up in defeat* SIGH. I started cleaning after my morning Jo, and got the carpet vaccumed in the living room, and a round of dishes done. THAT'S IT. Hubby said after I vaccumed the carpet, "Let's go eat at that new place!" I said sure, and thus began our journey. A journey that included going to eat, then various rummage sales, which we bought nothing, and then finally to stein's where DH friend worked and they talked for forever. Then we got home, and we got caught up in the garden. Caging toms that were getting larger, and DH sprayed the yard with skeeter spray and I was finally able to get into my main garden. Picked enough cukes for another quart of pickles

Staked up my eggplants that are almos as tall as my toms (am I the eggplant whisperer this year or something?

) and then weeded the area around my lost strawberry patch and sage patch. I stirred up an angry mob of skeeters and fought them diligently before I got something in my egg and scrambled back inside.

Oh, remember that squash plant that I killed, then it came back from the dead? Yeah, triple the size it was originally with 6 fruit on it! I guess I am the garden whisperer this year period!

Well off to go pick up the kiddo, prolly won't hear from me the rest of the night, unless its later. Ciao!

About 15 fifteen minutes ago L hollered at me to come quick. The unnamed egg is starting to hatch! Well it's not really unnamed it's Peatwo! I feel it. I'm so happy! That's 2 days early so it makes sense that he'd want to be here first to look over the rest. Any bets? Might be a long night

Have fun DrH-might want to grab a beverage of your choice and pull up a chair-a friend of ours likes to come and watch when the eggs start hatching-can sit there all day-she's hoping that they are back from Texas before this group goes! Good Luck.

Just made it out of the garden tonight-picked some pickles and pulled the beets to make pickled beets tomorrow when DD get home from her Grandma's house(DH's mother). Something enjoyed eating the bean plant leaves and the beans so decided to mow them off- in fact only the squash section of the garden is left. For all you gardeners out there do you think there is enough time to replant beets and pickles? Trying to figure out if we are going to try that.

Guess I should go separate out my pail of veggies, waiting for my SIL to send me the pickled beet receipe we used 2 years ago.

Evening to All...been busy and not on the puter...Good Luck with the hatch Doc, and no I don't think yer complanin at all, just happy, eh? It goes with the turf...I'm caught in the middle of helpin. Hard but satisfying someway, just keep the faith, with knowing you're on the right side of fence!

I wish I could give you all Hug for being the best cheesheads... I'm wishing nothing but the best for you all, and hope, and know i'll have more time to share in the future...the flock has my daily attention...I wouldn't want it any other way. Don't know how it's not enough hours in a day?

Hi everyone! Had a great day. Went and picked up my baby quails today.

They are so cute! They about the size of a finch right now. And they are 2 wks old! The parents looked cool, so I'm excited about the future. You should have seen all the wonderful eggs they had from those quail. Some were brown with speckles and some were blue with speckles. So pretty. I can't wait. I'll get pictures up soon.

Very Beautiful Morning Everyone!!!! We have a new addition to the flock!

I got up at 2:30 and at 3:30 progress was being made with each check. At 5:15 the Peatwo was laying in half the shell breathing hard but resting. It's pushing itself around the bator trying get out of the shell and stand up. Very hard not to help. Still wet but starting to dry.

woot Thanks for all the good wishes everyone! Bigz if you were here you wouldn't have a chance to give me a hug cause I'd give you one first. In a manly way as only men of the sea would do.

As you say being on the right side of the fence is way cool. Some people tell me I'm nuts for working so hard and occasionally question it myself. But then all I have to do is think of a can of beans or corn and I start smilling. That stuff is nasty! So I'm just a little nuts but it helps. Agree on how the heck is it not enough enough hours. At the end of the day you think boy didn't get as much done as planned. When you do something right it takes longer. Becky I'll bet those quail are cute! I'll get a pic too as soon as Peatwo is dry. H&R think it might be a bit late for replanting those but what do you have to lose. Peas would probably be done in time. Bartering with the BFF he needs beans and cuc's, I need sweet corn. He grows a lot of things that he doesn't eat. Just likes to watch stuff grow. He says his beans got chewed up by grasshoppers. Lives in a sandy area. Some of my leaves are chewed but not like his. Talked to a local boat dealer and found out that there's a screen in the carb and in the fuel pump of the motor that's givin me grief. Need to build a motor stand on wheels, it's on the list for the other motor since I've owned it.About 2 years. So actually I need to build 2 of them. Have the wheels [good stuff] need the lumber. Have a really great day I know I will!
