AND...that's like 30 minutes from me! What is this world coming too?

I was in such shock with Dr H's story, I for got what else I was gonna post.

All day today I;ve been hearing my crows going crazy over something. ( I feed the crows around here bread too
smile.png
) Then I was doing evening chores and I seen what all the hub bub was about. 7 crows were chasing down and pecking a Red Tailed Hawk. Chased him right out of here. Good crows! They get a whole loaf of bread tomorrow! And this all happened right after I found one of my Frizzle hens in a clearing in the woods by herself and I said to her..."Frank! You better get by the other or a hawk's gonna find you." Then ....Caw! CAW! CAW!!! CAW!!! And the birds all flew by.

FYI..."Frank" is short for Frankinstien.

10yr named her.

Evening To Everyone.... tough to hear that story Doc. Nothing but the best wishes for a total and f ast recovery for Tim. One should never have to deal with slobs in the woods like that. The guy who stabbed him was the real trespassing vermin and should be charged with everything they can find worthy. I get upset with folks that don't respect other folks rights. I hope Wi can pass the CC law, since we are only one of 3 states left to do that justice to ourselves! The right to protect yourself should be a no brainer.

Dr, H, I have friends in the County Sheriff's office over there. I'll give 'em a holler and see if I can get more for ya....

GothChick, I would be the one to make a stink about the officer taking the puppy from your yard without checking to see if it lived there.

Maybe they just graduated.......

Well, it is official. We have unleashed 2 new hunters into Wisconsin. Everybody duck and cover!!!

Their dad is just tickled about it too! Like a kid at Christmas, running around with a big 'ole goofy grin on his face!

WcC, good luck!

It sounds like the infection is NOT in the bone which is very good news!

Off to the races again. Later everyone!

Good Morning Everyone! Ya it's unbelieveable that someone would just stab you for no reason. Obviously mentally unstable. Let me know what you can find out BL4 I got the info 3rd or fourth hand. I see it made channel 9 news this morning. Agree with the CC too Bigz hard to believe that you have to carry a hog leg just to go bow hunting. Got a real sense of accomplishment finishing the spare B'room. Now to move stuff back there and start on the living room. Starting to get livable around here. Have a good one!

OMG! DrHa that is unreal! I had to reread it a couple times to make sure of what I was reading. I just can't believe that! How scary! I jsut don't know whats wrong with people. Oh and I laughed too when I wrote that, all I know is it better. My brain hurt yesterday. Bl4-glad I'm two hours from you!

I remember when my dad took me hunting for the first time he was the same way. Makes it hard to keep a straight face and not laugh at them. I think my mom did though.

Well I have a delema- DH might have to work on Sat, which means that 1. he will have the truck and 2 if I get the truck I will have to pull the trailer by myself. That would be fine, except that it's a 4 horse and scares the you know what out of me. When we had the little 2 horse I pulled it everywhere, no problems. This one has electric brakes on it and I'm not real familiar with them. The other thing is that my X might have to work too, that means that I either have to get a babysitter or bring them with, again not a problem, except that DD3 doesn't really have the patients for a long ride. Will go for a short one with us, but if I push an hour she's bored. DD8 loves to trail ride so would have no problems with her. Oh and the other thing is that it might rain.

Haven't had rain in 3 weeks and the one day I plan to do something, it's going to. So IF it rains then we should go somewhere, like a resturant, and hang out there? Just a thought. I find out about the workers tonight so will let you guys know when I know. Isn't that just how it is, you make plans and something always tries to make them not happen?! I'll figure it out.
So on a great note last night on CL Dh sees bators for sale, I went down and picked them up today. Got two for 50 bucks and one is still in the box.

I don't think DH knew what he was doing when he showed me the ad. I now have visions of quail and chickens taking over the barn! They are both Hova too. Great find on his part. Well have a great day everyone! Back to the grind!

Was loading up the old carpeting before it got rained on then frozen and found 6 eggs the snots were hiding. IT'S LOCK DOWN! Deprive me of eggs. I'll show ya!!!! Anyway can't remember the rule on floating them. Seems to me if they float then there's air in them and their old. None floated but a couple feel heavy like they were frozen. One was still warm. SNOTS! Most they can be is 2-3 weeks old. Think maybe the crack and see but be prepared not to smell method will be used. Was just thinking BCC hasn't been on in a while hope she's all right!

Yup. Floating is bad. But 2-3 weeks isn't bad as long as their not sitting on them. Do the test.

And it was on the news here too. Not many details. Still looking for the guy.

Getting the packing done. I'm fine with meeting up somewhere else if it's raining. We're staying at the Ottawa Lake Loop. Just let me know.

ok needs some advice from you experts on here....

So coop is almost done and we are getting 2-3 welsummer or welsummer mixes (she has purebred and mixes) that are from the spring and thinking about laying. We also have a neighbor who has offered me a belgien bearded and booted d'uccle which is darn cute- but it is bantam. We plan to get a few babies in the spring too but wanted to start getting eggs this fall. Would you add the bantam to the mix or stick with the full sized birds?

Also for 6 birds, what feeders and waterers do you prefer?

Thanks all and have a great evening

Evening To All....awful windy here today. Stayed out of the tree stand today. I don't ever want to fall out again. I did that prolly 20 years ago...lucky to still be able to walk. Most folks don't end up with that kinda luck. I was off work for over 2 months. Always be careful when using tree stands, and keep 3 points of contact at all times, while climbing up or down.

The canning is offically over today. Suzie did 14 quarts of potatoes today. Still have some freezing of winter squash yet, and the french frys to fry and freeze too.

The buckeyes started to lay now too! I collected 3 today. Lighter brown than the javas dark brown. Reminds me of the pheasant eggs we collected and ate in the early 70's when I started raising my first poultry. They were about the same size as pullet eggs and just as tasty and nuturious.

Hope all is well.... ~ bigzio
