All the kind words help, they really do. I know we will be fine, and things will get better. It's actually quite silly how much we take for granted while we were working and when things were "good". Able to pay our bills on time, go out to eat every now and then, not blink our eyes at snagging a coffee at the local coffee shop. Now? Not so much anymore! It's hard to also change that lifestyle once it does change! I have learned to become frugal. Before, I would turn up the heat if I was cold. Now? I put on a sweatshirt and dress my DS in layers. Cause that saves us a ton of money! I used to go to the grocery store and buy whatever we needed/wanted. Now, I wait for sales on almost everything, and tend to go to Aldi's more. I know once I get in the job, I am going to try and remain as frugal as possible for awhile. Try not to get in that different lifestyle and save what is above and beyond what I need. Need to get the nestegg back up and running, lost it back in March when the idiot totaled my car

There is hope, I do try and stay positive. Really do, just sometimes I need to fumble.

Becky) Good job on that woman at Walmart! I was 22 when I had my son, but I look very young for my age and I got lots of those comments too. I also got the comment of "Not being married" and "That's not the way to raise a child" Well, It was hurtful but I didn't listen. Me and DH got married afterwards, and I didn't see the point in rushing into a wedding and trying to hide the growing baby bump under my wedding gown. Then people would have said "Oh, they are only getting married because they are pregnant" Which wasn't the case! I didn't want that! My son's not gonna know for a long time that Mommy and Daddy wasn't married when he was born, and I don't think that "screwed up his childhood" as some stuck ups say. I always get the "You're pregnant? You don't look old enough to be pregnant! You already have a son?!?" Then people find out i'm 25 and not 16 and think better of themselves I guess

I found it's "Tis the season for moms to be yelling at their children in stores." Maybe I am too new of a mom, but what ever happened to taking a badly acting kid out of the store so not everyone had to experiance the meltdown? My DS is only 2 1/2, but he has never ONCE asked me for something out of the store. I hope to keep it that way, but with age it may change. I had one bad moment with DS where I was buying him nukes and he wanted one and I told him no and he fell to his knees and started to whimper. I acted like I didn't care and walked towards the end of the aisle and within seconds I had him trudging after me with a pout on his face. I immediately took him to the car and told him "Naughty boys don't go shopping with mommy" and I haven't had a problem since. I just don't understand how a mom can shop for an hour plus and yell at her child the ENTIRE time. Ugh, I wanted to say something so badly, but didn't.

Raiquee, I hate to tell you but those kids are smarter then you give them credit for. They figure it out pretty darn quick that they arrived before you were married. My DD was 9 when she informed me she knew, I was completely caught off guard! No explanation was needed and she is just fine with it.

I see nothing wrong with shopping at Aldi's! They have good stuff! I still shop there as much as possible since nobody else can match their prices. The tomato sauce is the bomb, and I can't make it myself for .99 and have it taste so good. I would go broke if I bought cereal at other stores, and where else could I get imported chocolate for 1.29 a 6ox bar????

And I hear you with the screaming kids! All this season I have encountered parents who refuse to deal with bratty kids! One time in Walmart there was a kid screaming in the paint section and you could hear him all the way over in the food section. You could literally track where the couple was by the kid screaming. They never said a thing to the kid and just let him continue to scream. I could not get out of that store fast enough, all I wanted to do was have a chat with the parents about letting their kid get that crazy in a store! NO WAY would I ever let my kids behave that way!

Ok gotta get some kids motivated here. The oldest DD has a half day so I am taking everyone in to the Valley.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning All! So much to peruse. Becky you get an Atta girl! Those dog pics are too cute! Think the second one is thinking, see I look cuter. I knew I would. TO how did you get them all to stay together? Love the markings on the one in the middle on top. Bigz gotta love those unexpected gifts. Raiquee that's an easy trap to fall into, the senseless spending. We're very frugal here. DD and her Bo came over for supper and xmas last night. We had a great time! His dad had a portable home made ice shack that he wanted to get out of his garage. All treated wood, very well made. So that will put to use soon. Have a good one!

Cedar Post- Where was that Hunters Ed class Info posted? I have been looking like mad to get the boy in one. We are in Bonduel, but the boy attends Seymour schools. Is it too late to get him in???? Dang, I wish I would have seen it sooner!!!

I agree with the braty kid syndrome. Whats awesome is the last time we went out to eat a an older gentleman came up to us and said "I was a little worried when you and your family sat next to us. But I must say, those are the best behaved 3 boys I have ever seen in a restaurant." WOW talk about a proud dad and mom moment. Needless to say they all got Dessert LOLOLOL.

Now why can't they be that way ALL the time...LOLOLOL.

Looking forward to a few days off, spending some time cutting firewood, spending time with family and friends, and reflecting on the reason for the season. Hope you all have a great Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone. Working until noon today then going grocery shopping and off home to cook and clean while kids are at sitter still.
Times are tight and we all do what we have to do to make ends meet. One foot in front of the other I say!

Have a good one all

Our class doesn't start until 2-1-2011 and runs on Tuesday nights. We also include a bow hunter course at the end of H-Ed classes. Most people take the bow course also as it is needed to bow hunt outside of our state and Canada. The course is in Freedom and that may be to much running, we have had people run that far. The sign up will be coming up if you want the info let me know. The DNR website should have classes posted for around the state ours isn't posted yet.

BL4) You are right, kids are a lot smarter than I sometimes think. I guess 9 seems like a "very long time" from now

I figure when he can do the math to figure it out, then he'll know! I'm not ashamed that we weren't married before he was born, even more so now that people think marriage isn't what it used to be. Divorce is so common now adays it's sick. I know some things can't be helped (people do change) but I'd rather take a long while to decide if I want to be with this person for forever than go "Well, divorce is only $400! why not?" lol. Ok, so maybe not everyone thinks like that, but it seems that way to me.

I do like Aldi's too, but it's a longer drive for us so it's no too convienent. I love buying their pasta there tho! Under a buck for penne, and we eat penne like...4 times a week! I just get kinda irked by their meats, the beef always seems to have this weird irredescence to it that I don't trust. Also their fresh produce generally isn't too good. It's not terrible, but never buy it in a bag or anything. I've ended up with more moldy food than good food that way!! (Peppers!) I also do love their cereal! Cereal can be so very' expensive! I just got a ham there for $5 and it's a 6 1/2 pounder. They are a bit more than a buck per pound but then they had a sign for $3 off any size. Sweet! Their turks are cheap too. Have you seen their stuffed clams? They come maybe...12 to a package in the freezer section. They are pretty good (a lot of stuffing) but they are only $4.

Yes, bratty kids get on my nerves and even more so...bratty mothers!! Mothers that continously yell at their kids throughout the store and the kid is just being well, a kid! Ah, well as I said before, tis the season!

DA) I had an elderly woman say that about my DS in a resturant as well! I was soooo flattered! He got a piece of chocolate when we got home! hehe. I love when people tell me my baby is behaving. Shows my hard work paid off! haha.

Evening All... We were kinda busy today running around with pre Christmas stuff.
Yep I agree that Aldi's is a great place place to shop for most of the groceries. We bought some gift certificates for gifts there. Anyone who needs grocery money prolly would be happy, I'm thinkin

The wood fired apple pie from the neighbors tastes great. Half gone already and the other doesn't have long to live.
Doc, now that would work for a weekend coop up north during the summer too, eh! Just a thought that I'm thinkin you might a thought too!
My friend from Illinois is up at his daughters in Greenville. He said when he stops by during the holidays, that he has some spoonbill for me to try! I'm all for it...just love all the different fish tastes.
Forgot to give you a way to go becky on your attitude. So way to go becky, you rock!
