I'm near Manitowoc Wi. So it's pretty far apart.

The chicks are about a week and a half old and I'm taking offers for them I don't have a set price. They are from a breeder not a hatchery.

GothChick let me check with Mom and see if she's game for some more chicks. It's probably a little too early for us to get them. though. I'm only about 50 minutes or so from Manitowoc. I was planning on doing BCMS and one other breed this spring, so for certain if you're doing BCMs.

Happy New Year everyone! Go Pack!

Well I got caught up in the marans thread and lost half the day!!! Darn,. this was the day for clean up of the house too...so sad! live in the mess another day I guess...
THat is so funny about your son (and the various comments!!!)

I love it! I so remember when my kids were going through that stage...overalls were definitely my friends! Kept the shirt AND the diapers on. Kinda wish I could go bakc to that MUCH easier time!!! Enjoy it--I know everybody probably tells you that it goes too fast and is gone...but it really does.

Before you know it they are all at college...and then all home for the holidays laying about, doing nothing and eating you out of house and home! (and making much of said mess!) When we first moved here my kids (then 4 and 1) delighted in running around the farm with NOTHING on! Yup, it was all fun and games until my gander decided that a certain part of my son looked edible! I have pics! I am not posting because I was probably a bad Mom taking pics before rescuing the poor boy! Funny to think of now...wonder where those pics went? (and what did the film developers think?) You might get a pretty good comment about that one DrH...

So anyhow, I MUST get off of here and accomplish something! Have a fantastic day!!! Terri O

Happy Monday...boy the house is slient, except for the chicks, even the dogs are snoozing.

Here is a picture of the chicks we hatched out. 1 chick has been named loud mouth... it's always saying something

TO) LOL your poor boy!! Well, hopefully nothing got injured and it was all in fun and games lol. If it was mine I would probably have freaked, but laughed sooooo hard about it later!!!

Went to my dad's like I said. He cooked, and we painfully ate it. His meatballs were mainly breadcrumbs, and his salad was sitting in 4 inches of vinegar and sopping wet!! He rinsed his pasta (I gasped outloud. Broke the #1 Italiano rule!!) Like a good daughter, I swallowed it whole and smiled, telling him how good it was! My dad rarely cooks, and I don't want to discourage him. Heck if him and his wife like it, why should I ruin their parade? I only have to eat there once in awhile! I would like to teach him to cook more crock pot meals, as I think he'd like those. Plus he only cooks pasta and these stuffed peppers (Imagine green bells, tops cut off, stuff with ground beef and cooked for hours. You get a no flavor, hard pebbly beef surrounded by warm pepper water. YUCK!) and everything else he eats is out or from a box.

Not good for him!

I'm going to make DS pancakes, cook em and freeze em. He loves those pancakes from the freezer, and man do I love them too! (not a morning person) I just don't like buying them "convient" ones that have a whole mess of other crud in them. I can make him some ones with fruit in them too.

This baby is driving me crazy guys. It NEVER sleeps. I swear. Keeps me up all night, right now its kicking away, kicks when I walk around, while I'm eating. GIVE ME A BREAK! I am horribly uncomfortable for being only 25 weeks, more so than I was with Damien. We find out on Friday if it's a boy or a girl!! (and if it's 1 or 2! I've been having some crazy dreams...) We were suppossed to find out beginning of December, but clinicals got in the way and I wasn't able to. So it pushed it back by a month

And it looks like hubby may be working Thursday night, but he says as long as hes not working he will be there for the ultrasound, no matter how tired he is!

I'm going to go take a long shower and mutter angerily about it not being spring yet.

Hello again everyone!

So if all goes well I think Terri O might be taking the 4 Cuckoo Maran chicks this time. I do hope to start breeding BCMs and my colorful eggs in Spring. I have a beautiful BCMs hen that needs a man. LOL! I have a pure BCMs chick that I am hoping is a boy so I can start breeding them. I plan to let my 2 EEs and 1 BCMs roo have their way with the hens that way I will have some fun egg colors no matter what. I really don't need so many roosters but both of my EE roos are so friendly and only one of them crows and he only does when I go downstairs to greet him. They are quiet boys and the nicest birds. My 1.5 year old carries my main roo all over and he just lets her. She even puts him in her doll stroller and pushes him around. So I don't have the heart to give him up and have someone possibly butcher him.

I don't know what has gotten into my chickens lately though. They are all "fighting" even the hens. I'm not sure if it is because they are all hitting chicken "puberty" or what the deal is but they have more then enough space. I can't tell if they are even really fighting or just getting their pecking order in place again. Silly birds.

Oh and I have the cutest little showgirl chicks right now, they are so funny looking! I think I need to expand my indoor chicken area because I keep finding more breeds I love. Darn chicken math. I was suppose to originally only have 1 BCMs, 1 Olive Egger, 1 Ameraucana, and 1 white Silkie. Well that didn't last long. I plan to thin out my flock once they are feather out and I can pick the ones I want. So I will be selling a lot of pullets sometime soon as well. I have 3 Barred Rocks that I plan to get rid of just because I don't like their color pattern. I just hate black and white striped birds.

I'm also converting a kitty condo cage into a silkie and serama cage. I have 1 tiny silkie that gets picked on and my 2 tiny seramas that I plan to keep in their own cage. I also have my BCMs pullet upstairs in the brooder with the chicks. She refused to act like a normal chicken and almost died when she was with the flock. I think I babied her too much as a chick because now she thinks she is a human. She wouldn't eat or drink with the other chickens. As soon as I went to check on them she would keep flying into my chest until I caught her and held her. She is a good brooder mommy though so I just leave her up with the chicks. I'm hoping eventually I can find her a nice male and she can bond with him and act like a normal chicken.

Is anyone on here within an hour or 2 of Grantsburg? NW Wisconsin?

I'm looking for someone who has turkey poults. I would like to get 10 or 12 of them. I am willing to pay up to $10 a bird.

I dont have a bator, otherwise I would order some eggs and hatch them out.

We are looking for meat birds. We would like to get them within the next month or two so we can start raising them up.

Please let me know! Thanks!
