Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thanks all on the schooling info. the storm has stopped DH from coming home today and possible tomorow. He's working up in sturgeon bay at this moment in time. I called and found him a cheap motel. 1.5 hour drive he can stay there, besides it calms my nerves.
Mag I have one of those big OLD honkin tvs in my garage if you want the knobs just let me know. or if you want pics of it. ps I love that idea of the knobs. lol I don't even know what those tvs are called? I'm to young to know!

Evening All... welcome cochinlover good folks here. Maybe someone can help you out!
Yep Susie it's the noon time whistle we're listening for...

BCC I'll bet the wood heat feels good, eh! Nothing quite like it for sure.

Nice fishies troll...was that a guided outting? Or are you a fish otter? They look tasty to me....wouldn't make it past fish fry friday here. I think the daily limit on those is 10...is that right.

I was forced to keep the one buckeye cockeral seperate from the rest. He is living in the entrance of the coop with the storage of bales and feed. Its inside the coop but a fence seperates that part from the rest. He is so nice....easy to handle and very gentle. I'm gonna have to figure a way to make it work.

Snowed a couple here today. The rest is gonna stay south of here!

Welcome to the cheeseheads jvls1942!

I just placed my seed order. I FINALLY got another catalog today. Ended up ordering from www.anniesheirloomseeds.com

Saved about $15-20 compared to the other sites I've looked at. Didnt get my strawberries, but I got a bag of inoculant since its the first year, and it was still cheaper!

After shipping it came to $40

I got the following:

Cherry tomatoes (Tiny Tim and Koralik)
Amish Paste Tomatoes
Marglobe Tomatoes
Contender bush beans
Jupiter bell peppers
carrots
onions
chives
cucumbers
peas

Just gotta get the starter kit to get them going in a couple weeks.

Glad I'm done stressing over the seed orders now.

While I haven't lived in WI for many many years, I just wanted to say GO PACKERS!!! My mom in Cudahy sends me plenty of Packer memorabilia so I am ready to rock. GO PACK GO

we grew those amish pasta tomatoes last summer.. or something similar.. they are like roma 's but half again as big.

we gave bushels of them away..

I haven't even thought about a garden yet, this year.. I'll do it like I do every other year.. wait until my back is up against the wall.. one thing I was told is that we are not planting 200 pounds of seed potatoes again this year.. LOL Hey, I had the space, so why not use it,, eh? Annie figures that 800 pounds of potatoes is way too much for 2 people.. LOL

thanks for all the welcomes...

Drhaha , I used to be a member here a long time ago.. I was gone for awhile through no fault of my own..

I do have quite a large garden .. It is about 300 feet long and 50 feet wide.. I have a lot more field space, but we use it for crops.

I had 2 potato planters and 4 diggers, but I sold all of them last summer.. I know that if I would have kept them, I would have been tempted to use them.. LOL

I will plant just 25 or 50 pounds of seed this year.. Never plant more than your wife can handle, eh? I plant and cultivate with the tractor and tiller.. Annie weeds by hand and picks potato bugs..

we give lots of food away to anybody who wants to pick their own..

I usually plant about 8 rows of corn.. Yes, I kept my 2-row corn planter,,.. LOL
