But honestly... I'll take anyone which one you can catch. Who knew I'd be traveling down to see you again so soon...?!

I might just be going to pick up a bantum leghorn tonight too... gonna get me a flock one way or another!

Adorable chicks, TO, and the mom is just beautiful!

And I found two more lavender split chicks under the buff broody hen today. But they're not up for grabs !!! I've waited a long long time to get lavender splits. Now I have to wait til they are breeding age, and do this all over again !!! The bantam turkens are sitting on 8 eggs

Guess the chickens think spring is here already !!!

Oh check this out. A photography session with chicks. I just hope the photographer takes care of the little critters.http://wausau.craigslist.org/bab/2802981389.html

Oh I am SORE! I fell on the ice AGAIN today! It is so weird cause I will be walking very carefully and then WHOOP! Down I go...fell on my knee and hip this time, of course it was wet and full of sh!t where I fell...now I am in my jammies! The clothes and my jacket are in the washing machine! I sure am glad I got the contractor's model of cell phone! It was face down in the wet!
I got all the feed moved and the hay unloaded and straw put down in all the coops...WHEW! Now I am trying to decide what to make for supper..I think I vote omelets!
I got the hen and her chicks penned up for Bigfam to pick out a chick tomorrow. That hen sure was hard to catch! Finally I just put the babies in the cage and was going to catch her when she came down from the loft...well those babies called her down all right and then they slipped right through the bars of the cage! The went under the pallet I just put 1500 pounds of feed on!!! It was sunk into the hay on the floor so I couldnt reach them. I opened the door and the hen went in...then she called the chicks back! Sure am glad they listened. I had to refill the water and the food cause she FREAKED when I locked her in a cage! Yeah...I dont have tame chickens! (only a few)

Here is what I found when I came in the house:

See, I dont have to heat my incubator...it is cat powered! I brought up another thermometer today; thought I could calibrate it and then see if the other one was off...yeah right, it only goes up to 120*! How in the world would I calibrate that? Seems kinds silly...it is a laboratory thermometer!

Well I guess I should get the mushrooms going for the omelets...I think I will do potatoes too...Later! Terri O

Rocket isn't alone anymore. Little Dipper has come home with us. It (hopefully she) is a 2 wk old brown leghorn bantam. There's a lot of introductions going on downstairs. Who knew chick intros were so LOUD?!

I will get a pic of Little Dipper tomorrow I think. Let her be this evening. She sure is cute though! I got to see some very pretty Marans at HR place too. Now I hope some do hatch out of the classroom projects!

Hey CC... Have some more Sangria, why don't you? I really wanted cake though...

But honestly, I'm glad Rocket has a "littermate"? Thank you, H&R, for supplying a chick! Being an only hatchling has to be a bummer.
