Cind, the elastic on my saddles is pretty soft & is about 1/3 of an inch wide.
I remember watching WKRP in Cinci too, but wasn't gonna admit it, until Bf4 said something.

Sorry to hear about your aunt, DrH. Keep an eye on those PRs. Once mine hit 2 1/2, they started dropping like flies. I've only got one left, and naturally she had to be the b!tch of the group.

good morning, welcome new Joe.. lurkers are welcome, but participants are easier to pick on.
we poor guys are way outnumbered and abused here.. there is strength in numbers.. If you have been lurking even for a short while, you already know who to watch out for..

Awwwww, you poor, poor guys! You're just so abused.

Angie, have you tried sorbet instead of ice cream?

Don't go breaking that fancy new computer of yours trying to figure out your pics, Jim.

Congrats on the chicks Bf4m !!! Hope the lavenders hatch.

Sorry to hear of so many ill family members. That's what sucks about getting to our age. My Aunt is failing as well and refuses to even talk about going into a home. She is almost past the stage of going into assisted living since she is blind in one eye now and the other is going quickly. She falls asleep and doesn't take her nightly drops. The doctor said he refuses to operate unless he is guaranteed she takes her drops 100% of the time. He said she will go blind for sure if he operates and she doesn't take them. Eventually she will go blind anyway. It is very sad. She wants to die in her home and refuses home care either. My sister is run ragged.

Anyway, Yes Doc, I changed their names to Larry and Lulu for now. I like the name Lulu, not sure of Larry. Ernie and Ellie was to hard to say. Didn't slide off my tongue. LOL

CC, Meaning Maran eggs as copper color, I don't think you could have missed that, or maybe ???? LOL Those chicks are adorable. It does look like you have two blacks and a lavender or blue. It is light so i think it is a lavender.

Here is a thread for all of you Lavender girls in our Lavender club

Ready for some baby pics?

Hey CC, don't mean to stir up any hard feelings but you may want to look at that thermometer. If they get their head in it and pull back they could basically hang themselves. just sayin.or tape a piece of cardboard to the back so they don't get their head in through the openings. Just sayin.

I just saw more pictures of CC chicks with out the Satan red lighitng... they are UNBELIEVABLY gorgeous!

I guess I wouldnt mind having the wrong color Orpingtons either if they were that cute. Now if only she wouldn't have cooked them at the wrong temp to make all roosters...

thanks for the nice thoughts!

i am jealous of all the lavenders on here... it is one I am thinking of finding eggs for. Would love to have one or two in my flock. Well found that another one of my silkies is finally laying,.. I have 3 hens now, but one is not a layer... too old or brain damaged or something. My black has been laying for a while, but my white is about 6 months so think it might be her. Pretty sure my splash is a roo.

anyway- yeah! Now hopefully all goes well in a few weeks when we integrate them back in with the flock with their own little mini coop.

Had a roast chicken last night so off to make chicken soup with the remainders. Yummy, one meal my kids cant complain about is home made chicken noodle soup. Darn picky husbands and kids. I used to have 2 five year olds that ate anything and then they turned 5.5 and it changed... my son has decided that he really doesnt like most food now. great:(
