Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I went to a house today that I did not know where to start with...I kind of felt like I was at home! THe poor lady didnt know where to start either...and everything I suggested she didnt want to deal with. I go back next week--maybe she will feel differently? I looked at my house with new eyes though and got some stuff accomplished when I got home! (that is a good thing!)

I need to go out and reset my traps...I am going to try cat food and dead stuff tonight. Wish me luck!

Have a good evening all...Terri O

Ghost, Magees has alot of customers keeping their feed fresher and their prices can't be beat. I'm still only paying $9 per 50lb bag, and that's including tax. Compare labels, and i think you'll see it's also a premium feed. You might be thinking of the time corn prices went up....for all the mills. I have good results, and never had moldy feed from them....ever.

  bigz

So what feed do you get from them for 9 a 50 I am currently using Layer crumbles and Broiler mash half anf half to increase my protien a bit because I'm having some feather picking issues and thinking its feed related? TY Kim

LOL Terri you know me too well!

Look, planted corn and so on is one thing; I have a big problem with putting piles of day old bakery and pie filling in the woods for weeks for bears and then one day you show up and shoot whatever shows up. How in the world is that hunting?????

I looked up the definition of hunting:

Hunt:
1.
to
chase or search for (game or other wild animals) for the purpose of catching or killing.
2.
to pursue with force, hostility, etc., in order to capture (often followed by down ): They hunted him down and hanged him.
3.
to search for; seek; endeavor to obtain or find (often followed by up or out ): to hunt up the most promising candidates for the position.
4.
to search (a place) thoroughly.
5.
to scour (an area) in pursuit of game.

Putting out piles of food is not hunting.

The deer Czar..... how is this a bad thing? The State hires consultants all the time, so why should the DNR be any different? Maybe this guy has ideas and knowledge that will be beneficial to the State; we have no idea until he releases his report. I have no love for the DNR either, they drive me nuts with their insane rules and good ole buy mentality. The only way to move up the ladder there is to wait for someone to retire. Perhaps that has changed since Act 10 though.... I would love to see people with fresh ideas in positions of management in that department.

I do love a good debate!

In other news... Thank you BigZ, I got the card today. Beautiful work! If I ever get a shop on Etsy I will let all my cheesy friends know about it!

Looking forward to the week to be over with......

Back again, my bait pile needed freshing up a bit....LOL! This is a issue that won't be solved here, that's for sure....but regardless of wether one feels that the DNR doesn't own the wildlife, break the law and get busted and you will find out that indeed they do.

The deer Czar has most of the hunters support so far. He is willing to listen to us...unlike the dictatorship of the DNR.
I place a bait in the woods and wait and wait and wait and wait....it is indeed hunting...no different than sitting by the edge of a cornfield and waiting and waiting....these are wild animals and quite alert especilly near a food source.....what's next...no hunting by a water hole?
One can't simply shoot anything that comes to a bear bait.... sows with cubs of the year are off limits. Sighting a boar may not even happen....one that actually doesn't hunt...has no clue about what they are so willing to type. This is where most of the problems come from....liberals rocking a boat they aren't even in.

Gov Walker is the best thing that has happened to this state in my lifetime. He will win election next week too. PO'd teachers that overspend their budgets are to blame for their own demise.Education was far superior with large classrooms, I was a witness....you don't here college professors complain about to many students in a classroom.

Ghost... I use their 18% poultry ration and also provide oyster shells on the side in a seperate feeder.

Bf4, what did I tell you about helping hatches?

Well, yesterday I had a lav roo start crowing, and a huge whitish egg appeared in one of the nestboxes. Coinkiedink? I think they are 13 1/2 weeks (hatched Feb. 20th). I've never seen a whitish egg around here except for the eggs I hatched the lavs out of. It is just so suprising because it was so big: as big or bigger than the ones from the adults, and seeing as I have 3 adults & had 4 large eggs........ I guess I have just gotten used to Mooses kids laying their first eggs & they are so darn small.

I'll stop babbling now.

Sounds like it is raining down here again. Good for the gardens. Well, I got nothing else, so Sweet dreams, all!

I don't dislike everything Walker has done....however I few things I don't like at all! The teacher thing is a sore point with me, having some teachers in the family. Teaching at the collage level is WAY different than teaching at the elementary or middle school level! The more attention a student gets at those levels the better. If you want kids to actually learn and not get shuffled through, they need more one on one. Also, most teachers DO wind up paying for allot of things out of pocket that the school covered when we were kids. I could go on.... but I'll get off my box now

I really don't think I've done all that bad here, although my youngest seems to think so.

) Oh well, I deal for now. Good luck with her, hope it works out.

Bf4m.... hope the hatch goes well!

Jasmine didn't take the kids out today, off and on rain all day, but she did explore the rest of the coop and storage areas with them. Such a good momma! Nothing new so....

Night All!
