Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

So today seems like a good day to spam you guys with pictures xD. All of my SLW's are in the 'awkward teenage' stage right now, but doing well:)

And today I decided to get gosling pics of the guys I got from TO(Thanks so much, by the way!)

Here's his 'What is that thing in your hand?' face.

I refill their water and they precede to pick up mouthfuls, and shake their heads, making the water fly everywhere! They do this until they are out of water and I have to fill it again

MLH, I'll be seeing that in the next couple days. No spoilers!!!

Twizz-Not sure where you live but there is a little family owned movie theater in Stoughton. I love that place! They have pizza, among other things to eat and they have the best garlic bread. That is where we go. we get a pizza and we eat it while we are watching the movie. It;s not super high tech like some movie theaters are but they sure make great food and it's very clean.
They have a web site too:
http://www.stoughtoncinemacafe.com/

BBP-You could try a horse rescue. You might find a gem through one of those, but if you decide to look into that take your trainer and really research the rescue and the horse. Rescues can be very invasive so you have to go into them with both eyes wide open.

. Don't have room for a show bird, I need a good, mild mannered layer that can handle our winters better. I'm pretty sure I saw those birds at the swap meet. The guy that was parked on the south side had them. Nobody seemed interested not just because of his price at the time but the birds had a bad temperment.

Cost isn't a problem. I'm willing to pay a good price for a nice bird, but I really want a decent laying hen and no roos!

Looks like I might need them sooner than expected. One of my hens has been acting a little "off" (the one I said was "cranky"), nothing serious until today. Too hot to go into detail but could be pre-existing and put into high gear by the heat. should know pretty soon. Oh well, not giving up yet. Now I need to go check on her and then take a cold bath!!!

Thanks again Frenchie.

Twizzlebee the goose is cute and so the dotte. Young still eh?

MLH you must be a real history buff to pick out the guns by 10 yrs and chickens. I was watching an older western and one woodwork was from civil war era and the other woodwork in same house looked more recent. The only reason I knew that was because my son Nate has that civil war era woodwork in his house.

I been cooking for my chickens today. Ran out of feed and the person that was supposed to come and help me with my flat tire didnt show up. Lucky I had lots of dried peas and lentils. Watered down some dog food, and cooked a whole bag of 8 grain cereal. Now I am baking a buckwheat, flax seed, tuna, kitchen sink cake. That should be enough till tomorrow.

Evening to Everyone... Good to hear from you Tomski. Sounds like the Fenwick took a beating from the brookies. Happy to hear that the fishing was great, like always. The next bash is gonna be 2 months...

actually May 31 and June one and two! Plan to make it again I'm staying hopeful.

Dipped another 55 gallons out of the local pond for watering. It helps to perk stuff up, but nothing like a rain. The corn leaves here are starting to curl bad.

Thanks for the kind words.

Nice pics, thanks for posting them.

The police are having a field day here again..ten so far.

With the early Spring here, things seem to be ahead of schedule....I have quite a few hens in moult. Kinda nice time for a few less feathers, eh!

Just had a doe drinking the bird bath dry....suzie gave it a quick refill...I think she prolly has a fawn close by.

Good evening! What a hot one today! No rain here...of course; and the weather guy said only 20% for tomorrow vs the 70% they were forecasting on Friday! I think that would be the best job...you just say whatever you want and then change it so you're not wrong!
Gotquite a bit accomplished for such a hot day. All the cat boxes dumped and scrubbed and refilled. Floors vacuumed. Then I took the rugs out and sprayed them down and scrubbed them too! It was a great day to be working with water. I actually stayed kind of cool.

It doesnt matter how busy or interesting your life is! We like to hear it all. I love reading about the stuff that you guys do every day. Sometimes it even makes me think that I am not as crazy as everyone thinks I am! (and that's a good thing)

Better head out and lock up the critters and head off to bed. Nighties! Terri O

Oh Terri... You ARE as crazy as everyone thinks you are...:D

I moved my silkies into the free bunny hutch. It's in the Garage, so safe from critters. They could probably use more space, but it's fine for now. I want to put thm downstairs in the basement, but the guineas and Icelandics are still there.

I had to move the 3 layers hens fom the mini coop in the backyard into the big coop. It's been a month of quarantine in my backyard. I got a large wire dog crate. Just big enough for 3 hens and food and water. I put it in the big coop and moved them in. I didn't want to do it whn it's so hot, but it will actually be cooler since the space is bigger with a big fan blowing. I was thinking 3 days of them being in the crate being looked t by the existing flock? Sound right?

They have had some exposure since nosie Pepper has come a checked out Bella whn she got into the garden, Bella got a good feather pluck from Pepper and ran off. Then Pepper ventured into the backyard and I hear HER sqwack and see her running! That made me smile, because Pepper is head hen, and a growler talker too. I'm thinking it must have been Stella that got her. This pecking order thing will be hard to watch, but funny at the same time if Pepper is getting it back.;)

So now that I have moved the silkies, and moved the layers, that leaves the guineas and Icies from the basement. They are going to be moved ino the mini in the backyard. They sure could use some outside time! The guineas are flighty and spaszy! The icies are 2 Roos 2 pullets. 3 of them are crested. The one roo I name Thor is a sh!t. He I'll be the first to chek me out and see what's going on. He is also the only one to peck me! I'm thinking he will be a mean Roo. I'll wait and see, but since I have a spare Icie Roo, he better watch it!

Goal for tomorrow is to get the guineas and icies moved. I also had to take the lonely duckling out of the Bator and get him into a brooder. There is another egg that is really pipped. Just waiting or the chick to absorb yolk and cut off the blood flow from the membrane. This duckling that's out won't shut up! He's so sad...

I better go. I was too tired to set on traps again, so they all live mother night :(
