Hi everyone !!! I'm back !!!!! Been way to long. Thanks Bigfam for urging me to come out and play !!!! LOL
I just hate posting without catching up but guess I'll have to just jump in....

Anyway, as most of you know my 90 yr old Auntie Esther was starting to fail. She has been in and out of rehab nursing facilities over the past two months and just prior to that she had people come to her house twice a day, totaling 4 hours a day.
She hated having them there. She refused to do any of her strengthening excerises, doing kind of activity period.
Long story shorter, a few years ago they found a polyp in her small intestine. It was inoperable.
A few weeks ago she started to throw up blood and had runny bloody stool as well.

Sorry, I'm falling asleep as I type so if this dosen't make any sense that would be why !!! lol

Anyway got a phone call this morning with bad news Auntie Esther petersen passed away.

about your Aunt. Sounds like she lived a long life pretty much the way she wanted to. Peace to her and your family.
My mother died from complicated polyp issues. If it's any comfort operating could have been worse on her and everyone else. My mother went though over a month of surgery and infections before I had to make the decision to just let her go. I still struggle with that! She had almost no intestines left and her kidneys were failing as was her liver. My head said if she lived there would be no quality of life.... but my heart didn't want to let go. I knew she was a fighter (like your Aunt) but.....

OK, enough downers!
Word is you got more critters! Did you get the donkeys you wanted? How many kittens do you want? They will be ready the last week of Nov.!

I just had a sunny side up egg! And it was great! I know, not too exciting, but, it got me thinking why I started raising my own chickens! Every few months now days you hear about a recall of eggs or chicken due to one thing or another. I know I have happy healthy chickens and can eat raw eggs without a second thought. If I do get sick, I have no one to blame but myself, and I can handle that! Not to mention the taste, color and smell of a "real" egg! My daughter says the smell of store bought eggs cooking makes her want to puke now! LOL I wouldn't know about that anymore.... I won't even order eggs in a restaurant anymore....icky!

good morning everyone,

Feels like it is going to be a nice day out. I need to put new bedding in the coop after work , I cleaned it earlier and bleached out the coop. It was dusty but the pine shavings keep the floor poo free. I am getting excited about looking at the Bantams on Saturday. I am hoping they are purebreed so I don't go home empty handed, but if I do I will be ready for the spring.

Anyone else not in the mood to go to work? Sometimes I wish I had a 9-5 job.

Cindy's thoughts really hit home. Glad to hear you and Chuck are doing well! Thanks Bf4me for filling us in and getting on her to get back on! Speaking of which i did get back on but only to read too tired to type. In my defense the pile of next years wood is lookin pretty nice out back. I love the new saw they raised the lip on the oil and gas fill tanks so you don't need a brush to clean the dirt away. And the splitter started first pull and ran great! No more fighting that recoil.

Cindy Laura asked me last night if we were getting more than one kitten. You know my answer. The mouse in the house is now hoarding cat food. Took away the food and replaced it with a peanut butter surprise. [trap] Lets see him try an hoard that! Stupid box is my pet name for the puter. It's not ME that's stupid. Whistle whistle. The knee says it's gonna rain but the sky says I've got a few hours. Think Midas is a perfect name. What a comb already! Donny should be under the knife right now hoping for great news. Probably won't hear anything until around noon. He told me that I'm on the top call list after the kids. Took that as an honor. Told him we'd give him a couple of days then come see him on Sat. I dug out a chicken book to take him. He's gonna be very irritated to be stuck there. Gonna need a lot of sedation for that boy! Jim any luck or ideas on the Ollie yet? Hope you get it figured out. Had to love needing a pic of Bf4me.

So sorry to hear about your aunt French Toast- hope you find some peace in this difficult time.
My dad is coming this morning to help me winterize the coop. I was going to put plywood around all the mesh on the coop, but the man at the building supplystore talked me into plastic with wood trim to hold it on. Hopefully it works, but if not it only cost me $30 for 100ft of plastic all the wood and nails. I'm just hoping the goats don't decide to eat it! Also heading to the co-op to pick up a calf hutch for our little horse. He is so tiny I love him
Can I use white christmas lights on a timer for more egg production? How early do I set them to turn on, or do you extend the night time hours? I am only gtting about 4 eggs a day now down from about 8-9. I have order to fill, lol! Thank you all for putting up with all my questions, I'm sure it gets annoying
