Morning! Was wondering if you'd catch that JJ. Gave me a chuckle...you would not believe the amount of people that really think it is NESCO! I love the bargain corner there myself....
SO it is sunny and windy here today...DrH, you say rain is on the way? All night was a stiff South wind...my wind chimes were going crazy. I even heard the 4' long ones a couple of times. Was up half the night and am so tired this morning. I woke up at my customary 3:02 and remained awake until 5:30 when DHs alarm went off! Sheesh I just hate that. Tried the "Adrenal Cocktail" a couple of nights and then I just woke up earlier! I ran out of sea salt so I cant make it now...forgot to stop and get some when I was in Watertown the other day too!
Last night I went to my friend's house for a campfire. Took the remaining cherries along from BL4...we finished them off with no problem. I left Tommy at home and brought 3 Border Collies along. My dogs had fun with her dogs chasing balls and sticks. Her firepit is awsome...really big. THe wind made it interesting!
Nothing too interesting here...my hens are either not laying too much all of a sudden or have decided to hide the eggs and make more babies! I did find Super Mama on another nest up in the barn. I have not iced SIlver's babies wandering around alone too so she is probably on a nest in the attic of the coop. There is one interesting thing I just thought of: In my inside the barn coop where I have my show birds and the purebreds I have a buckeye that has babies. Well she must have decided to let her babies go with the Turken hen in there because she is trying to brood all the eggs laid now! The Turken has never been broody but she took over the 11 chicks like she had always been doing it! Isnt that weird?
Cind I wonder what was up with the Hawaiian bird? There have been birds that have lived with stuff like that...I remember watching a youtube thing one time. THe people fed it right into the crop...it was kinda disgusting if you ask me...
Well DrH--I think you were right...it is starting to cloud up a bit here...I hope you got to make you and Donny some good breakfast! I better get out and do some stuff...that darn job is in the way for this afternoon...I wonder if my other client is back from Mayo Clinic yet...didnt hear from them yesterday...
Have a great day everyone! TerriOkindahungrynow....
Morning all!
ARGH! I just need to remember that all things come in 3's right? So Twain's trip to the ER this morning is the third so last one. Right?!? I was awoken out of my deep sleep to DH saying he needed to go to the ER. Felt like another kidney stone. Then he proceeded to drive himself! I said I'll take him but he was like "No. You need to stay to take care of the dogs!" ARGH!
I guess it could not have been that bad! So he is still there and they are "running tests".
Twain was a bear yesterday. Combo of no caffine, no smoking and change in food! He is doing well with the no smoking thing. Luckily he smokes a pipe so without a pipe and absolutely so tobacco around he does not have easy access.
Other then that, everyone is doing well. The meat birds are going next week for processing. Thank heavens. Tootsie Dog is much better do no return trip to the vets.
BigZ-I will tell him that with the money he saves on tobacco he can get his Bear Cat that he wants.
He got me a present about a month or so ago. Right after I got my revolver he surprised me with my own "vintage" surplus Mosin Nagant. Comeplete with surplus pouches oil can and the bayonet. Once he is over all his "stuff" we'll go sight it in. He was jealous because his Nagant did not come with a bayonet....
Kristi-Twain is on a low salt low carb diet. The low salt is easy to figure out but the low carbs are harder. I got some new cook books to try out. Moderation is the key and I'm finding portion control is probably the biggest issue. We are so trained to eat big portions that when I see a "real portion" it looks miniscule! But I'm right there with him so we are going through it together. Although I won't give up coffee or chocolate. Lucky for me I love dark chocolate and that is the "heart healthy" one! True Southern Sweet Tea is the one thing I have trouble with. I love sweet tea. Not a fan of soda except for Blummers Root Beer, so soda is not a problem.
His doctors think that if he changes his lifestyle know and looses the weight he needs to then his blood sugar levels will get back to normal.
Welcome to the newbies!!
Well, I'd best get going! I'll post an update later
MLH Hope Twain is feeling better soon.
I also love sweet tea but more like Nestea style. Grew up on that. I dont drink soda or coffee so no problems there. Well I found a few cookbooks at the library and found one or two receipes in each. I will keep hunting. We have alot of restricted dieters on this board. Guess we will have to share some tips. I know we are doing pork chops for dinner. Used to go with Mashed Potatoes so not sure what we will have instead. I am the only one who likes mashed cauliflour. Oh well! Fresh spinach will be with it, we just got a giant bag from our CSA! Yum.
And some big white turnips... what do you do with your turnips everyone?
I guess you could brood in a nesco. your chicks have to stay away from the walls and the lid would have to be left off and.....i am just crazy nevermind
hey TO do you have any of those australorps left? this guy is looking for some:
