Personally, I think you need to do a test run on your brooder and such. And the only way to do that would be with live chicks. By the time you KNOW its working perfectly, and ready for your April babies, the few 'test subjects' that you bought today will be big enough to go on outside.

Its purely scientific. And the best for the april babies that you have agonized over and finally decided on. You wouldnt want to not give them the best.
 
THEY WERE SOLD OUT!!!

It was sad walking down the rows of empty tanks.

I did get 50lb sacks of Layena for $10 a bag, scratch grain 50lb for $9 and a 50lb sack of oyster shel for $6.
