We have (HAD) a chicken that was so tiny she was smaller than most half grown peeps. We got her from TSC 2 years ago along with 5 others (all tiny-i can't tell you what breed-just TINY). 4 died and 2 survived. One is just beautiful. Brown with speckles and fuzzy feet. The other was pure white. The eggs are so tiny they don't register as small on the scale. She tried to hatch on her own last year out in the wild (disappeared on us). We found her and eventually all the eggs were "stolen" so she came back to the pen at night (safe-closed). This year she disappeared and we found her nest. A baker's dozen!!! Thursday is hatch day from what we calculated. I went to check her today and she was gone but for many feathers and such. One egg was hatched with no baby to be seen. We saw her last yesterday afternoon. Chances are she was taken during the night. I checked the nest around 4pm. So it could have been longer than 12 hours since the eggs were warm. I collected the eggs and placed them in the incubator. What are the chances we will get any babies? Any shout out or experience appreciated! Weather has been 50's and 60's with rain in PA.
