I caution everyone to get the actual paper version...from BYC Store if possible....I love kindle, but I got "Chicken Coops for Dummies" on Kindle and the "Supply List" does NOT enlarge when you increase text size and it's too small for my old eyes to read (and I am only in my 50's) (fortunately my SO, ray, has built a house before so he is able to figure out what is needed for the design I chose without the list...good thing too, I'm to young for a magnifing glass)

I believe you are correct Farmer Lew. I am not sure why I thought that.....too many terms in my head I suppose. I also have really liked watching Hometime on PBS over the years.
Learn just enough knowledge to make myself dangerous haha.....

Whilst I was at work today, traveling hither and yon on State business in a state vehicle, Master Builder Farmer Lew and a mystery member of his Coop Building Crew completed another major portion of my new coop.

I received periodic text updates and an occasional picture of the progress, as I wasn't going to be able to make it back home before the end of the work day.

This is the first angle of the roof gable going up.

Gabled roof all framed!

A view of the whole coop as the work was completed today (sans the tarp over the open roof section).

It is due to rain again for the next few days, starting tomorrow.

I wish it wasn't raining tomorrow because we'd just come out and finish up. He needs to get the taller ladder out there & then he'll be all done! All that'll be left will be for you to do the cosmetics and whatever you need done inside with roosts, etc.

Soooo close to being done!

Note: Farmer Lew is shoulder-surfing and said he can give you rafter space up top, too (extra storage or roosting for the chickie bobos).

The vinyl should be laid on the floor and as far up the back wall as possible. Or should I paint the interior first?

We'll have to talk more before I get all carried away with some aspect that interferes with the Master Builder's design.

I like the idea of the TV show, too. Hehehe. "On The Road With Farmer Lew". I bet it would pay a lot better than his job at the local hardware store. Hehehehee... though I do have to say, working in a hardware store is the perfect job for a guy like him. He's very, very well-suited to the job.
