Hi my name is Jaynei and I am a Hatchaholic. I am now suffering from incubator withdrawls too. The thing is I am still over run with baby chicks. I just can't say not to a broody hen. I had nine girls sitting for several weeks and I had to give them each at least a few eggs. I now have 18 babies running around in different pens. There are three more broodies sitting now.

They have taken away my eggs that would otherwise go in the incubator and I am no longer needed as a chick mommy. It is so depressing to pass the incubator and check the light only to find it is not on at all.

Be careful you would be hatchers, this is a serious addiction and one will not find much support for kicking the habit on BYC.

What state are you from ??

Huntsville, Alabama! Still went to look at the bator this morning. Nothing in there but as least I can make a slow withdrawl! Hard to go cold turkey. Even the kids are a little sad. All six of them would go straight to the incubator every morning!

Well I'm going through egg depression. My RIRs and Sebright pair haven't started laying yet. I can hardly stand the wait. I even ordered my Cochins mainly to be broodies and hatch eggs for me but now I'm on an incubator hunt. So its a vicious cycle that seems never ending!
