My hens are eating fine, seem lively, and are laying the best they have in a long time. 11 eggs from 13 hens.

But around half of them are losing feathers right down to the skin. Neck, breast, legs, around the vent. It varies. I can't see anything on them, but the skin is bright red in spots and their breasts look a bit scabby.

I've dusted them twice with poultry dust, the first about 3 weeks ago and the second a few nights ago.

It must be a parasite of some kind, correct? Something evidently invisible and immune to poultry dust. Unless I'm just not giving it enough time, but the skin is so bright red I feel like whatever is irritating them must be still in business.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Eprinex works beautifully and you don't have to throw away the eggs.

How do you administer eprinex? A quick look shows injectable, pourable, or put into the water. (I like the last option best).

Does TS carry eprinex?
