[QUOTE="oregonkat, post: Good luck, this is the BEST part!!:fl Are the pips in pretty much the right place on the eggs? [/QUOTE]

Thank you for the explanation!
For the moment we have one chick and 7 pips. The one piped and hatched in less then 2h!!! The first two who piped don’t seem to do much but they still have time... I’m impatient

Yay, well done little one!! :jumpy Yes, it can go super fast. This is good. Keep posting with progress. Try not to open the bator while the others are hatching unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. If they all go as quick as this one did, you should be done with the hatch by tomorrow hopefully.

That membrane is looking very dry. Take the egg and put some coconut oil on the membrane to keep it a little moist. Put it back in the bator. Is the chick still active in there?

Have you taken the other chicks out to the brooder?

BTW, those are some very beautiful BCM eggs you have there. Great color!!

I did take the completely dried out. They were rolling the egg all the time. Now it's calmer in the incubator. And the chick is still alive, it cheeps from time to time and I see it breathing clearly.
It was the longest night in my life as mum of 3 kids

Did you moisten the membrane? You may have to assist this one if it does not make significant progress today. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/guide-to-assisted-hatching-for-all-poultry.72886/ Good luck with this one! Are all the others doing well?

Yes I did, like you said with a little bit of coconut oil. It’s clear again. The chick is still breathing.
I will help it. I already did read the whole article twice and watched some videos on YouTube.
All the others are fine. Half of them are in the brooder nice and dry, the others are sleeping in the incubator. Feet look fine, yolk is absorbed (one I had a doubt because there was something yellow but looked like a sort of membrane. The chick is fine I thing)
It was a long night here (yes, I did not sleep )
