Wobbly Duckling. Need advice ASAP

I've noticed that when I have large groups of WH's together there is usually one duckling, almost always a girl, that is pushed aside by the others at the food dishes and water bowls. When your girl goes back with the group just keep an eye that they aren't doing that to her. If they are, don't worry, she'll outgrow it and learn to stand up for herself but it might take a few weeks. In the interim you might have to make sure she gets up front in the food line.

~~Here's hoping she will wake up in the morning protesting loudly at being all alone. :)

Thanks. She did make it through the night. There were some protests in the wee hours, but she's actually very quiet. She also gave me a quasi-quack this morning. She seems to be resting more upright. And she's standing up for short spells. I'm keeping her in her own box for the time being with her own food and water. She's not going to those on her own, though. I'm having to bring them to her. When she's presented with the options, she goes crazy and eats and drinks.

Part of being a hobby farmer... there are some late nights with sick animals. Going to be a long day for both duckling and gentleman, I'd suppose. :)

Gent if you can get some Poultry Nutri drench and it can be given by mouth or mixed with water, it can really help to give them a boost. Glad to hear your seeing improvements already.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've come home on my lunch break. She's in her box and alert, peeping and now quacking, and still eating and drinking from my hand. She's standing up now and not wobbling much. I'll keep her isolated for another day or two until I'm certain she's fully recovered.

they sure are special and have a way of waddling straight into our hearts!
Yeah. That was NOT part of my plan. I have a rather utilitarian approach to the farmstead. But sometimes, things just happen a certain way. I know better than to fight it. I just go with it. My cat, however, does not feel the same way, and is laying at my feet now giving me stink eye for holding the bird and not her.
