Zoe slowed once she reached the last place she had seen the elk at. She looked around the area, then turned to follow the scent trail until they caught up to the herd. She stopped and looked over the herd from the shadows, looking for a weak or injured one to pick off.

Shade lunged forward at Nina and went straight for her throat.
Zara growled and was starting to panic. She was still jumping and kicking at Blythe.
Twister took a step back. He growled, "You better let her go!"

Nina tried to evade him, but already weakened from blood loss and unable to use her leg, she couldn't. She yelped again as she felt Shade bite her throat.

Blythe shook her head again, then released Zara and jumped back, panting.

April heard Nina and released Breeze, taking a step back so she could look for her pup. "Nina" she said softly, turning towards her pup.

Shade sank his fangs deep into her throat with no mercy. The only thing that filled his eyes was the fire of hate.

Zara backed up and bared her teeth at her, but then glanced quickly at Shade.

Twister grabbed Breeze's scruff and pull her away. He growled and stood in front of her

"That one." Macey whispered moving her head towards an injured elk.

Nina whined softly as she felt his teeth sink deep into her throat. She knew that she would not survive. She watched Shade's eyes as she took her last breath, and hoped that her sister and mother would be able to survive and take back the forest from this pack.

"NINA" April called and leapt forward, attacking Shade with an uncontrollable fury.

Blythe glanced back at her mother's voice "Nina, No" She turned and ran to Shade.
