Yes and that is natural for them to kill them but a car hitting them is not natural. For you to say you dis like wolves for doing what is natural and acing like the unnatural way of death is better is ignorant. No ofenceApp. 273 moose are hit by cars. 55% of these are calves. Wolves alone can kill 4 times this amount, many of them being reproducing adult cows.
I dont like wolves. I understand if their being over hunted, but they dont need saved, at least grey or arctic wolves dont >.>
have a good day

P.S. love the pic! TIME FOR TICKLES!!!!!!!
Yes I agree with you about helping protect the moose population. In a natural situation the wolves could not wipe out moose populations as all the animals would be widely dispersed, and once the moose got to low numbers in one area the wolves would leave that area to find a better hunting ground.Yes, it is natural, I will agree with you, and while it is our faults that the moose population is going down, the wolves aren't helping either. All I ask if you guys will discuss, leave out grey and arctic wolves (unless your talking about them being shot from a plane or whatever stupid stuff the gov. is letting people do), because not only will they kill moose they WILL go onto your property and kill your beloved dog and don't expect your dog to go into a frenzy because they go silent around wolves (unlike say a moose, lol), and all you shall find is a collar and *maybe* a carcass (a lot of people have their dogs outside where the wolves live at)
No offence taken, and however I wasn;t saying unnatural way is death, I was just saying wolves dont help moose population, but I understand if you talking about- say- European wolves. And yes, a lot of the population in AK drindled after the WW, they were killing them off, but now its back at a good population.
LOL! Me too!![]()
PS.Kev!![]()

But, now many populations and moose and wolves are fragmented due to human development of land or hunting etc etc. Because we have altered the habitats its out duty to manage them now if they are not true wilderness any more. That would include controlling the population of predators too...but not exterminating them.
Are people still allowed to hunt the moose if the population is declining? If they are that should be stopped util the population is healthy again. Sorry I never said this but in *some* places its not well. Others you can find them in your back yard (like ours) Sorry, I realized i was like 'kill 'de wolves say 'de moose' XD, I was just defending the moose, but its REALLY stupid here- their trying to kill wolves from planes to help moose & caribou populations... grrrr....![]()
I am from Europe so have no idea about wolf populations in America. Are they common over there? I live in Thailand now and we have a species of wild dog that looks a bit like a wolf, but it smaller and red colour with short fur. They are also very rare now as people will shoot them on sight - in fact in this county any large animal or bird is shot on sight for no apparent reason other than fun. We do have some large nature reserves and now most wild animals are only found in them where there are no people. Ooh, thats, dumb![]()
I'm in Alaska and pretty much everything here is abundant, just depends where you go. As for other places I can not say, nor will I try to atempt to say.
