My rooster is still less than a year old but shouldn’t he be crowing already? My hens also haven’t laid an egg in months for some reason. I am having a hard time figuring that out? Shouldn’t he be old enough to breed?

Well, then I guess you have a lucky rooster! Some roosters don't crow ,all the roosters that I have owned never crowed but they were meat birds and they were 9 months old before i gave them away

Do you have any other roosters? If so, lack of crowing could be due to him being the subordinate cockerel.

Some just don't crow for a long time. He'll crow when he's ready.

Your pullets/hens are likely not laying due to it being winter.

I'm sure he's still breeding them, or trying to anyway.

No other roosters.
