For all those silkie and showgirl experts, Dash is about 3 months old now, whats your opinion, boy or girl?

I think she "acts" girly too, but its hard to tell. I know they say there is a walnut type/shape on their head thats the comb by about this age, I felt and as far as I can tell no lump or bump or anything.

So, here's hopin she is a girl, but her lil tail was a bit worrying.

She sure is a cute lil thing, in her own unique way.

ok no expert but I'll throw my two cents in compared to my sillkies and showgirls. She looks girly BUT her poof looks much like my showgirl boys poof. My showgirl hen has a more rounded poof. Also that tail has me thinking boy with the hard feathers. You never know though!

Well, this should be interesting to see! As I said, I am no expert on Silkies/Showgirls so probably shouldn't have even opened my big mouth, LOL. Dash looks like a girl to me, but maybe all Silkies look like girls to me till the comb and wattles come in!

Yup, this will be interesting for sure. Like I said, the tail looks boyish, and I thought I had read the girls head poofs are more round.

Even if he/she is a a lil roo, if not too noisy I will try to keep as a housechicken. I do wished the lil thang was more people tame, she's (I will call her she til I know) not people friendly at all. I mean, she is very sweet, docile, stays out of the way, etc, but lil Dash sure doesnt run up to you wanting attention. Does everything she can to be unobtrusive. She does love Mom tho, its Mom favorite lil chicken. lol Mom has very warm hands, and she loves warmth, so I think thats part of it.

My hands are always cold so she probably thinks EEEKS when I touch her neck!

I want to say girl. I have noticed with my showgirl that is a roo that a comb is growing in and when I didnt see the comb, there wes no fuzz in the area that the comb was growing in at. I can see fuzz right down to the edge or her beak. Good luck, and my show girls are not much of people birds either. Jenn

Looks like a "she" to me but I am no expert. Dash is a great name for boy or girl. I love her neck, it is just too blue and cute. A little scarf would just be adorable on her.

Sorry, but it looks like a boy to me, you can look at my boys pic and compare. He was about the age of yours in my pic. Silkies/showgirls such a mystery. lol
