Wondering if this is too small??

I know we talk a lot about sq ft but I am building an 8X5X5 chicken coop with a 9X9X6 run attached. Part of the 9X9 will be covered for shade and protection from the rain and snow. I have 10 standard chickens and 1 bantam. Is this going to work for them?

I think you will be fine.

Only way to tell if it "will" work is, of course, to wait and see -- but it seems plausible, plenty of people have setups that size and get by

The coop isn't excessively large for a northern winter but it sounds like your run will be reasonably appealing (roofed, etc) so hopefully they will spend lots of time outdoors during most of the winter.
