So if in scatter out on napkin they attack it. Won't take from feeder, though. Peck at shavings non stop when awake. I've tapped on and in feeder.

They will feed a little bit from the fear when they receive on the napkin. I kind of go into a little frenzy. But by and large the feeder is not their favorite.

maybe try scattering a little bit o food so when they peck at the bedding they will most likely find food. also try tapping your finger in one of the food holes until someone notices. Once one starts eating out o it the rest will join so give them time

Mine preferred the the long red trough feeder until almost 2 weeks old. Then a lot of them switched over to the style of feeder you have pictured. I don't know if it matters because it's only one experience.

I have caught the eating from it a few times midday today. Just a little bit worried cuz it's not like they're eating much and there's not a whole lot of poop in there either

Just wait! You'll want them to stop eating soon!! :D

I couldn't believe they weren't making a dent in the 7lb feeder, until about week 2-3. Then the feeder went from full to 1/2 full in less than a day!!

Looks like you have that same 7lb feeder, so I 'm not surprised they aren't making much of a dent in it. As long as they are eating and drinking, looks like plenty of space, they will be fine and will eat and drink as much as they need. That's my opinion :)

10-4. It's just kinda odd be cause if I difficult sprinkle some on napkin they go crazy for it and food. Guess that might be why they aren't hitting the feeder. Haha. I'll stop napkin feed, I guess. Really wanna go work on coop, but this has been my day so far while wife works... (Emergency Management Services for county... Yeah, she's busy).

Mine wouldn't eat from that type feeder either, I switched to a different feeder and put One of the bigger chicks close it began to eat and the others joined in. Maybe that would help?

If you want to really simplify feeding... I'd take out the white part that holds the bulk of the food, and just put food in the plate portion without the divider/white part. They'll jump in it, kick it around, but it'll let them scratch around in it which seems to be what they want to do.

I never bought a mason jar for my mason jar chick feeder but they're just fine with nothing but the base.

Was trying to keep the poop out. I have caught them eating from it a little bit. They just not wild about it.
