My son was out in the woods yesterday and found a pile of 16 eggs under a bunch of vines! 14 of them were from one of our EE because they were a pretty light blue. And we just thought she wasn't a good layer! lol! 2 were green from someone else. We removed them and found only 3 good ones out of the bunch but not really sure whether to eat them or not. He put some wood to cover up the hole so hopefully will discourage her from laying there. The thing is, sometimes she does lay in the coop. When she first started laying we had a big basket in there that she liked. They started knocking it over so I took it out. Maybe she just liked it better? I don't know! Mine only get about 2-3 hours of free range time, so she must hold it in until they go out! Crazy chickens.
