I cleaned out the coop and now the girls will lay their eggs in there, but they won't sleep in there at night. They just sleep on the lawn .. I have tried picking them up and placing them in the coop at night, but they just come right back out. Are they just enjoying the night air here in Arizona?

I know I am! LOL
Never had that happen to ours, not sure. Did you replace with the same kind of bedding? Did you clean with a chemical?

NO chemicals used .. replaced with different material .. wood shavings.

I had a similar incident recently, and I found that when I replaced the straw with pine shavings my hens did not like it and would not even lay there eggs inside the coop, I put the straw back in and they went back to their same old selves, just my .02 worth.

Are they sleeping locked in a pen where it is safe or just out in the open? You can place them in their coop and lock them in at night. They will get used to the new bedding.
