Well, official lockdown was at 6pm central time! I'm so excited!!! I feel like I'm back to square one, with my nose pressed up against the bator window! At least this time (hopefully) I won't have long to wait. First hatch for me, Black Copper Marans, 12 eggs. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me!

Hi Debbie...

I went into lock down yesterday at 12:20 p.m. MST! My first hatch as well. I have one that pipped this morning and it is just peeping but not doing any zipping yet. I'm nervous and excited at the same time! I hope we both have good hatches...keep me posted and I'll do the same...got my fingers and toes crossed!

You have a good hatch too!! Storm is rolling in here, got to get off the puter. Hope the power doesn't go out now!!! Send pics when they hatch and I will too!

I went on lock down the 23rd and woke up this morning to a really loud cheaping sound it was so funny I rushed out of bed to find that one of them had hatched in the middle of the night but what was so funny about it was it had both its wings spread and propped up on two of the other eggs cheaping just as loud as it could.

I've got my first chick! It's so cute. 5 pipped and the last one that pipped zipped out first. Funny, the first one is still not doing too much. My little baby is black and it's starting to get dried off nicely. The little thing is trying to get used to it's feet

I can't believe how quick it zipped after it pipped and I had stepped away from the bator for only about 45 minutes and when I got back to it...it was all zipped but still in the eggs and it came out pretty fast after that. I don't want to miss the next one! How many eggs are you hatching Dusterbd? I've got 12 in all. They were all doing well at my last candling rightbefore lock down...some less developed than others but all alive and well. I have 2 green/blue eggs and I really want those to hatch. Good luck on your hatch...keep us updated

Phew. We dodged the storms here yesterday, thank goodness! Wish I could've seen something more than I did when I candled, but the eggs were too dark to see anything. This morning, I noticed that some of the eggs are looking like the big end is sitting up higher. I have all on their sides on some grip matting. The huge egg, I call him "biggun", looks like it moved during the night. Hope mine do as well as you guys' did!! Setting up the brooder today...
