Well hello again Debi and Dusterbd...

My three eggs didn't make it...I just had a feeling that they may not have survived even prior to the power outage...I was right. I pulled them out and candled them. One had a chick that had internally pipped and died...the other two quit some time after lock down for whatever reason. I am happy that I have my 9 chicks. The first 4 hatched out and fluffed up right away...the 5, 6 and 7 were a little wetter and the last two were sticky...the very last one didn't absorb all of the yolk...I knew when I candled at day 18 before lock down that that one might have trouble since it still had a substantial amount of space in the bottom of it and the others were all pretty dark except the air cells. When it hatched it's little umbillical cord/membrane was not attached and it's little bottom was all sealed up...but it didn't absorb the whole yolk. Poor little thing was a sticky mess...then it pooped and after that it flopped around in the broken egg shells and the poop and dried all crusty with matted feathers. I have given it a little sponge bath twice now and it's a little better...but it looks like it has a mohawk! I'm gonna name it "spike"...super strong but tiniest little thing for coming out of the biggest egg! I think I should have had my humidity down just a hair from days 1-18 and then not so high at lockdown. I'm going to get some ameracauna eggs and hatch another batch, but just 6 this time around. Anyhow...I hope you both have more cute fuzzy butts hatch out today! Debi, I hope you have others to join your little loner

Hey, I think if I can figure out how to put pics up...I'll post some for you to see...my babies are sooo cute...just barn yard surprises...mixed breeds...but cute, cute, cute!

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Three strong chirps coming from the bator!!! Can't tell which egg it is coming from, but have a feeling I know which one it is. So far, sounds like only one egg, but maybe the other peep was from another egg?? This one was much clearer and louder!! Yeaaaaaaaaaa, I'm gonna be a Mama!!!! I know, I know, don't count your chickens and all that, but I did make it this far. Ok, breathe, go get a nice glass of wine, and chill....

Amazing, isn't it?!? One has internally pipped, expect to see flying shell shortly! I actually saw the first pip happen on my last batch, there was a loud bang and all of a sudden, a nice little mound of cracks on the shell!

This is like giving birth without the pains!! I can't remember the last time I was so excited about anything! Ok, maybe the births of my Grandchildren! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the nine chicks peepinator it took me forever to figure out how to put pictures on here but I went to the uploads at the top of the page and then I did the browse to find the pic I wanted then I copied the url it gives after you submit and pasted it to my post. It worked...

I will take some more pics here in a little bit so yall can see my chicks they are mixed too!!! barnyard suprize!!!

Yay I have two more pips that means the nine that are supose to hatch today 3 of them will!!! I am so excited!!! I am gonna be a hatching addict!!!

Hatch-A-Holic!

I'm already thinking about the next batch, and I don't even have any hatched yet! This is definately a disease! Guess all of mine are sleeping, cause I haven't heard a "peep" out of them since about 5pm. Hope that's all it is?? How long from peeps to pips? Congrats to both of you on all your babies!!!!!

LOL!!! I love it..."giving birth without the pain"!!!!! That is exactly what this is like, huh? I am now a mother hen! I put a pic of one of my chicks on my profile and I'm gonna add some on here for you all

My little golden angel...the one who had trouble with the yolk not being all the way absorbed and has it's feathers all dry & crusty. I've given it a little sponge bath twice now and it's neck and head feathers are all dried sort of spikey now...so I call this one "spike"

Well...there you have it, some pics of my little sweeties.

Debbi...mine took a couple hours to pip after I heard their peeps...and then one chick took 12 hours once it pipped to zip out and hatch. It varied from chick to chick. They come out when they're good and ready...on their own sweet time. Looks like a real tiring workout to me! I loved watching them...I was glued to the incubator for nearly two days. My husband is thinking I need to go see a specialist about my little chick problem!!!

I can't wait to hear how things turn out Debbi! I know you probably already have some babies by now!!! And...Dusterbd....can't wait to see your pics and SarahIrl.....want to hear how your hatch is coming along!

I've got my bator all cleaned, set up and running to be ready for more green/blue eggs...hoping I can get them tomorrow

My husband is going to have me committed...I just know it!

AWWWWW!!! They are so precious!! Congrats Momma!! I woke up to peeps and one pip so far! Can't tell how many are peeping, and the tiny pip was not the egg I thought last night would go first. Today at 6pm would be 21 days, so they are right on time!! I'll post some pics when I have one pop out, wish me luck!!
