I just got home after being gone all day and immediately checked the bator...of COURSE(!!) the temp was too high again

, weathers been hot here, and the humidity went up a little more, but that was fine.

The babies are due today and i was stressing out this morning because i had no pipps BUT i've got pippers now

, i didnt see how many but for sure one of my RSLX chicks is pipped, has a big hole so far...

i almost thought it was dead

it wasnt making any noise and it was pretty hot in there (103.7!), i left the lid off for a few seconds, adjusted and closed it back up. he squeaked at me when i picked his egg up to check..

i'm so very happy theyre actually hatching! but ima little worried they might have problems from hatching when the temp is 103.7F.

anyone know if this will hurt them? will they come out all HUGE and messed up if theres a small spike at hatch time?

i sure hope not

step away from the bator

103 is not that high..so I am sure they were ok. I have had mine go to 106 one time!!!!!!!!!

looks like you are doing everything good just don't open the incubator, expecially while pipping...
the membrane can actually adhere to them like seran wrap if you do this.

Anyway good luck!

I have 9 eggs in the incubator right now and only one pip!

uhhhh come on eggies!

no misting is nessasary.......

you will be fine.

what I do is get one of my kids clean socks and roll it up then soak it in hot water and place it in the incubator. This way the humidity stays pretty much the same and the temps regulate. Its a cool idea.

Take care and let me know how it goes.

I like the sock idea. since I am the only one in my house who even knows where the clean socks are located I should have a good supply.

They will be fine. The temp will need to get higher than 103 for a good period of time before it is going to have an impact on the hatch.

Just step away from the bator, and take a deep breath and relax. It is going to be fine.

Btw- I am speaking from experience here. I have had temp spikes at times up to 106 for short periods during a hatch and they all were fine. Just try to keep your temps as close to 100 as possible, and if it spikes, bring the temp back down and relax again.

Good luck!

I am just way stressed, my last 2 hathches were all bad, i only have a handful (about 5) of chicks and 2 quail that hatched.

I do have 2 pips still, one of my RSL X ones and a little cochin, the banty is a little slow though, the RSL X is peepin like crazy, actually woke me up last night (had to move the bator in the bedroom because of temps) out of nowhere he went "..PEEEEEEPPPPP!!!!", lol.

he was zipped out more this morning, im sure he'll be out sometime today, i cant wait to see what he looks like
