I kept telling them if they didn't start being more than expensive pets, they would be looking for a new coop...and lo and behold, my husband spots a tiny snack-sized egg when putting the ladies and gents up for the evening!

I don't think it's the threat. I think it is the tone of the voice, that scares an egg out of them. They realize you mean business -lol.
