wood duck with stuck egg

my wood duck has a stuck egg,help.

A warm bath should do wonders to help relax the duck enough to pass the egg.

i'm guessing i'll have no choice but to try. it's been a week now. really, she doesn't seem to be eggbound but it's like the egg is in a sack that she's just dragging around. it doesn't drag literally but it's pretty close.

she's pretty wild and i'm very afraid the egg will be broken when i try to catch her. she does not like to be held - at all! she's very against it.

so, please reassure me that even if the egg breaks, i will be able, with the help of some olive oil, reach in there and remove the pieces. just the thought of it makes me light headed.
