I have some single wall stove pipe. the side seam is not closed on it. is there a trick to snapping this together ?? I am getting frustrated

also does the crimped end go up or down ? I have seen it both ways on different sites
thanks

Left side seam of the pipe fits or slips into the right side grooves. Hubby always puts some screws in to help keep it together. We use two pieces of pipe and an elbow in the middle. Ours crimps are always one on the bottom into the stove and the other crimped piece goes into the flue. Hope you understand.

does the crimped end go up or down

The crimp goes down, so the upper pieces fit inside the lower pieces.

That keeps liquid from running out
