Hello! I'm almost done building our coop, inspired by people here / the Woods Open Air design. I started last year and couldn't finish before winter, and then held off starting again until this fall... I can't remember now, is there any advantage to using standard shingles vs a metal roof? I was planning to do metal but in the back of my head I feel like I read something saying to use shingles. If metal I was going to air gap it for ventilation between the sheathing.
I messed up on my dimensions for the top window vent so it's a bit smaller I think than recommended, and some other things I probably messed up. My first time building anything this big. Coop size is 8x8x12, with a 2ft storage section in the back so total size 8x14. I built it on a trailer because I think we'll move one day and wanted to be able to take it with us lol.
Anyway, thanks for any input. Hoping to finish this coming week.
