Woods-style house in the winter

I had printed out the digital pdf version I found on line of the Wood's book...but I went ahead and actually bought the book through my Verizon app for $9.99. Downloaded it to my library so I can read it in the chicken run with my coffee. :) Book is different than pdf version!

what is different? in general terms.. unless you want to scan it :gig

I couldn't remember exactly so I searched a little bit. There is mention of the two publishings in one of the Woods threads. Maybe this one?
Anyway, I don't thinks it's been updated since 1924.

Fresh Air Poulty Houses For All Climates: a practical book... was published in 1912.

Fresh Air Poultry Houses: the classic guide... was published in 1924. Also published under the title - Modern Fresh Air Poultry Houses.

Both can be found online. The 1924 one was reprinted in 2008 by Norton Creek Press.

I have the early version, its hard to see the blueprints. May try the newer version see if it's any better.

That’s what I did. I got the free version of the 1912 edition online. The digital version had a lot of formatting issues, missing illustrations, etc. I went ahead and ordered the reprinted 1924 version and it arrived yesterday YAY!!

Just skimming through I can see it’s more detailed and the blueprints are much easier for me to understand.

The basic design cannot change to be an effect coop. Must be able to close the windows well, and have the coop sealed at all areas like the eves. Have the open end opened.

If you can understand the basic concept is like a glass bottle lying on its side. Air blows in the open end but only a little at a time because the air in the main section has no where to move to. Makes for slow exchange.
